Slow Day Thread: Do we pick up a RB from portal this late ?

With Dixon gone, we are down to 4 scholarship guys with 2 freshmen. Jabari and Jaylen both could not stay healthy last year (really hoping they do this time) but does it even make sense to raid the portal this late and find some warm bodies at RB ?

If needed can someone like Jimmy Holiday move to RB to help ?

I know local radio hosts talk about these type of things. I am not in Knoxville area anymore so would like to know what the chatter is and your thoughts ..

It's hard to imagine there's a good running back still in the portal. May 1 was the latest a player could enter and be eligible this year, so it would be someone who couldn't find a home earlier. Maybe somebody who has already graduated so no eligibility issues?

I think Fant at RB in short yardage is a great idea personally. He actually moved to RB for awhile like 4 or 5 years ago, so he's got some experience. Plus, having them back there to block on obvious passing downs would be a big improvement over the other running backs. Not only for both of those things, but he can easily function as a pass catcher out of the backfield as well. A running ban screen while he's back there would be a great way to keep the defense guessing, as presumably think he's just in for blocking purposes. Jumbo sized Deebo Samuel type role.

Yall do realize that with tempo you do not sub so our "goalline package" is just our regular personnel.

Apparently a xfer at this juncture would require and NCAA waiver.
