Sling TV

That is great news. I know a few months ago, you had to have a PS subscription on top of the monthly rate. Since it is going to android soon, Amazon Fire tv should happen soon.
VUE is compatible with fire tv now, I believe.

Just pulled the plug today...literally. I ordered Sling and canceled cable. Got the deal where you get an AppleTV Gen4 1/2 off.

With Vue available on Roku now I think I'm going to pull the trigger on it this month.

I've had Sling for over a year now and have loved it. A few minor hiccups with the stream, but overall a very good experience. Probably going to switch to Vue soon, better line up for the price, in my mind. All I'm waiting for is to get the details on how the NFL Network and RedZone will be priced and delivered.

I do this exact thing and yes you get every game, I will say sling needs a pretty fast internet connection otherwise it can freeze up

Can't you log into the WatchESPN app with your SlingTV login/password? Much faster that way. I do the same with with AT&T Uverse and going the WatchESPN route is much faster than the Uverse website or app.

Has anyone here used Kodi and how is the sports access?

Kodi is more of a Linux based Home Theater media system (software and hardware) and not an actual streaming service. It's most like an open source Roku, but you still need a streaming service to watch sports. You can access many free live sports streaming services from it like you can from any other computer/browser. Kodi has many Add-ons and I'm sure some of them are free live streaming services, just not sure how good they are compared to watching it on WatchESPN or cable. My experience is they are not very good.

I can watch any sport....including cricket and women's water polo if its on any tv in the world. Most of the main sports...MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL are in 720. Depending on your connection you may or may not have issues with buffering....I normally don't and I think we have 80 down with 25 up

Vue is amazing. I switched and love it. Borrow a buddy's log in for nfl network, and use an antenna for cbs games. Totally worth it.

SEC Network package: Sling - $25/mo, Vue $45/Mo. No thanks everything else is borderline useless fluff for our house.

Dont forget this!

Had Sling. It wasn't bad, but no DVR is a killer. Didn't get a chance to use Vue, but I've heard great things so far.

Vue is amazing. Set your favorite shows and it auto DVRs. Rewind live tv, upto 5 streaming devices at one time, you can use Vue log in on Watch Espn. Only negative is some shows wpnt stream on your phone because they are mobile restricted. I cancelled cable.

Just did some more research. To get all the channels of the Orange and Blue packages (Blue comes w/ NFL Network) that Sling offers, which is comparable to Vue's mid tier $35 package, along with the sports extra package (SEC Network & RedZone) it's $45 with Sling (+$15 for HBO, in my case $60).

I hear great things about Vue, it's cloud DVR service, ease of use, layout, etc. But they've still not revealed any costs for NFL Network and RedZone, and they announced that they'd be carrying them weeks before Sling. Couple that with needing to subscribe to HBO Now, I'm guessing that the final cost that'd I'd probably end up paying will likely be very close to that $60 cost for Sling.

Sling has been awesome with their customer service, along with adding channels to the original line up with no extra charge. I'm starting to feel like they've earned my loyalty at this point. But I really do miss having DVR. I'm hoping that's the next upgrade they make to their service.

Great thread guys. Thanks for all the input. Very interesting things happening with TV providers right now. We are finally getting some of the power back.

Vue hasn't made its way to Roku (edit: Vue is available now on Roku) yet so I just signed back up with Sling. I got the orange package plus the sports, kids, and movie packages. Got another free roku 2 for signing up for 3 months. I would like to have the Fox sports channels and NFL network, but just not worth 20 extra bucks (for the 3 channels I would actually watch on that package) to me at this point.

I tried the free trial of Vue, and I thought it was great. I cancelled it for now, because as much as I love the Vols, I love my NHL hockey. The newest NHL Live that replaced the Gamecenter Live, really had some bad issues when it launched early this year, and I am not ready to rid my Directv, but that day is coming quickly though. Just like everyone else has mentioned, for what you pay vs. what you watch or want to watch is ridiculous.
