Is anyone else experiencing pauses and hiccups like me? Of course, it could be a number of components in the stream, but, this only happens when I'm watching SECN. Usually glitches right at a critical time, and doesn't pick back up where it stopped. Frustrating.

I had sling last year with little luck. Might have been my internet though. It had the most trouble with football with all the people and movement. That's the only reason i bought it.

I get the same problem running Sling TV thru my ROKU. Was pretty bad for the TT game last weekend.

I had sling also and had a few issues with buffering etc. I switched to playstation vue (PlayStation?Vue | PlayStation?Network) and its been great. Havent ever lost reception, plus you can watch tv on 5 devices at one time. And no you dont need a playstation, I stream it through my Amazon Fire Box.

This doesn't look like buffering, which I would expect to return to the point it lost data. This is a total gap. I am watching through ROKU. it never does it during commercials, thankfully.:)

How much does Playstation VUE cost, and is it's own provider? (Do you have to have a regular provider to watch espn?

Yes. I'm calling them and pitching a fit. Enough of this. It's absolute crap. Canceling and demanding a refund.

i refused to try to watch it on sling so went over to watchespn. Stream was fine until the end of the 3rd and I missed 3/4 of the fourth. Glad it wasn't a nail bitter. I am kicking them to the curb and gonna just give in and get Direct TV so that I can have unlimited data on my cell phone too.

Its really sad because Sling has so much potential and I have stuck it out with them for over a year now. Between this and the Walking Dead issues i have had it with them.

There are various packages....I threw the link up there that has the breakdown. I have popular channels + sports package and I pay 34.00 a mo. They have packages that start at 24.99. And watch espn is included no extra charge.

Thanks, Nate. I'm being lazy. I'm going to do my homework and compare. It looks like I'll get more out of PSV from what I see. Plus, I really hate missing critical plays. I pay for 50mb up/ 5 mb down, so, I don't think it's my interneck.

Why would anyone watch it over an internet connection if you have a TV channel for it?

I took it that he was on the watch ESPN app until it went out, then switched to the broadcast on the Sling tv app... Which is what I had to do.

I don't get how Sling still sucks. I don't use it to watch sports, the app is terrible. I use the credentials to sign into the ESPN app, but even that crapped out today in the second half so Bob took me home. I tried to watch Walking Dead on Sling, they clearly can't handle the demand and it constantly freezes or the sound gets out of sync with the video. I have 100/100 wired connection into Fire tv so I know it's not on our end. Their customer service is lousy too. All they can tell you is uninstall the app or restart the device. Let's pretend I have a functioning brain and already tried that.

So, I've installed the PSVUE app on my Roku and will be trialing that. Roku is doing some seriously sucking, let me tell you. Thanks for the info, folks!

Go Vols!

I switched to Vue and have no complaints at all. Several more channels for half the price of satellite.
I want to give you a heads up on a couple of things though.

1. I have a PS4 and a Roku device. I never have any issues on the PS4 but Roku occasionally glitches. (Reloads)

2. Roku doesn't have a tv guide but PS4 does. I believe the "fire" and basically all others have the guide for Vue, just not Roku.

3. As with anything new, a couple of things will take a day or 2 to learn but well worth it, once you do.

If you do have any issues, feel free to ask. Also, look at Roku being the source of issue first. Vue on my Playstation is great.

I was also on my roku 4 using watchespn. I have EPB in Chattanooga so definitely was not my internet speed 1gig up/down and running direct ethernet to the roku. IT constantly bufferes periodically but around the beginning of the second half the just totalyl went out and I mean everything on watch espn went out other apps/channels were fine. I switched to SECN on my HDhomerun app on my xbox which actually runs wirelessly to my comcast (secondary) connection which has a HDHOMERUN cablecard and it ran flawlessly in HD.

Seeing that all of watch espn was acting up I would assume that is also why sling went down as they pipe the same stream.

That's strange. My watch ESPN stream went down but Sling was still working.
