Slick Shelly?

I'll be honest, I don't think Taylor will see the field much, barring injuries.

Kenny O'Neal will help you forget losing Robert Meachem.

If I had to guess in January to what the rotation will look like in September, I'd guess:

Kenny O'Neal
Gerald Jones
Brent Vinson
Austin Rodgers
Josh Briscoe
Slick Shelley
Lucas Taylor

Then there's Quintin Hancock that the coaches loved last year. Who the heck knows? Besides O'Neal at the top, the next SEVEN could be in any order, depending on spring practice, summer maturity by themselves, then fall practice.

However, those 8 guys are:
2 5*
3 4*
3 3*

So we have the talent there, and I think the offense will be even better in 2007. Yeah yeah yeah, we lose our top 3 WRs, but I'm telling you, O'Neal, Jones, and the other 6 guys, can all grow into great players.

Hmmmm, I'm glad your opinion is based on online recruiting video, recruiting ranking, and/or your dislike for the current returning crop players at WR.

I could really see Austin Rogers moving to safety. I know Fulmer threated him with that during the season. I like Briscoe; he is further along now, I think, than Bret Smith was 2 yrs ago, so I believe he is/will be solid. Lucas has some work to do, but how you have him listed UNDER a player who doesn't even know the location of Neyland Stadium is a real head scratcher. Don't you folks think if a player is 6'4" and decent, he sees at least couple of plays a game? (see walk-on Casey Woods playing time vs. Slick Shelley's)

Let's not forget the humble Tyler Maples.

Wow, way to start off. Please tell me where my opinions came from, instead of TELLING me incorrectly how I feel.

I'd appreciate it in the future if you could at least learn how to discuss things will being condescending.

I was just making a comical observation. I actually think it IS more than likely 2 of the 3 in the starting rotation will be newbie.

I guess you have PERSONALLY SEEN every recruit, giving yourself grand insight. Therefore, my ASSUMPTION that your OPINION that 3 new commers to the team will manage to beat out players who have been on campus more than one year was based on ANYTHING BUT direct wisdom and knowledge, was really stupid. I was so ignorant to think that. Do you get frequent flyer miles?

Someone asked me what I thought. I even said in my post "Who knows?" and the last 7 could be in any order. Anything ANYONE posts here is going to be more guesswork than actual insight. Why not go attack the other posters in this thread who have given their opinion?

Yeah man, I totally attacked you.

If you don't or cannot find it the least bit comical that we assume recruits are going to come in and start, I'm sorry. That's not attacking you. It's making a comical observation. If you don't find it funny, that's fine. If you don't find it interesting, that's also fine. Feel free to tell me how uninteresting or how very non-funny it is. But to accuse me of attacking you is just very wild.

I was going to type a comment about your need for a diaper, but considering your current, apparent emotional state, I'll refrain.

I remember when O.J. Owens was the next Ronnie Lott.

I can't recall Lucas Taylor dropping any passes this past year. I remember in the Air Force game he had his defender beat for a sure TD, but Ainge underthrew him and he managed to catch it and get tackled at the 5. Regardless, he saw such limited action last year, I don't think you can make any realistic assumptions about his long term value or contributions to the Vols.

Well I was at The Memphis game, he dropped a First and Goal pass on 4th down, he fumbled, and then he also let a punt go over his head that bounced to the 1 yard line. I seen all of this at the game. Other games, where shall I start ? Taylor is the reason we had to put Coker on punt reurns.

Slick Shelley is from Ft. Smith Southside which is about 15-20 minutes from where I live. He has good hands, but I always heard that he isn't a hard worker.

No it is not impossible because I was there. I was fuming so bad, hell I thought at one point that The Liberty Bowl Staff Security were going to escort me out of the stadium. I started a thread on here about scoring 50 on Memphis. Lucas Taylor help cause that not to happen.

Damn Point Shaver !

I believe he was refering to the fact that you claim Taylor dropped a First and Goal pass on Fourth down? Which down was it exactly? First? Or Fourth?

so anyway, apart from bickering like little girls and giving me a dubious list of would be starters can anyone answer the question, have coaches come out and said he has been struggling, have any of you seen him drop passes? because I can't remember him being on the field much!

He was supposedly nursing a sore shoulder and a ankle sprain, he should be 100% going in to spring practice, he will make his case for playing time then.

Lucas Taylor also threw a TD pass to Coker in the Florida game. That was one of our biggest plays of the game. The bottom line is that he managed to get playing time as a freshman even though UT at that time had possibly it's most talented wide receiver corps ever. If you've seen this guy in practice, you know that he is capable of taking a defense apart. I think next year you'll be surprised when they start using him more.
