Skype is going to be on xbox live. I have heard that Microsoft is buying it from them, and they want to put in on their smart phones and xboxs. Anyone would use it?

Skype is already on smartphones & I use it occasionally on a game that don't support more than 1vs 1 chat.

Skype to Hotmail = Google Voice to Gmail

This is an attempt to hedge bets in an area where Google looks to have some potential leverage.

Phone minutes are going the way of the land line. Phones will be using internet-based phone transports.

Agreed about the Google part. I think Mr softy had to jump no matter what the price tag was, but they have the money to do it.

MS is getting niched out while Google's out buying or building transmission lines. MS needs to start building rockets for getting to the cloud or they'll be paying Google to move stuff there.
