Yeah so the only downside is I think this game has ruined every other milsim for me. After this I dunno if I can go back. it's still buggy as hell being EA. But what it brings is game changing as far as house to house urban combat. The horror and fear is there.

I’ve heard this buries games like hell let loose and squad as far as milsim realism goes

Have you played it? Cause that is NOT the case. They will flank you, they will make use of smoke, It's about some of the best AI I have played with. With that said the actual Jihadist are rather suicidal, and do sometimes just rush straight into gunfire, and thus so does the AI. It'd be the same with say a ww2 Japanese soldier Ai in the Pacific. Don't mistake accurate ai with bad ai.

I've heard different things about the AI with the enemies and squadmates. It's on my wishlist. I know it's early access so I'm going to wait and see in a few months where they're at with it. Looks promising, but I can understand the concerns. I'm in the mood for a mil-sim.

Good question
about the controller access. I mostly use a controller for PC gaming.

I'm sure it's the case. It's hard to tell everything that is going on from just the videos. But it was just like they would pop out and stand there for a couple of seconds waiting to be shot lol. it is definitely on my list. The visuals are just incredible.

So far there is no AI squadmates. Squadmates are people only and squad size is limited to 4 people. That clearly wasn't the intention. It will probably be raised to full fireteam as soon as they can mke it more efficient. If there are plans to introduce Friendly AI, I haven't heard about it.

This is as much horror game as mil-sim....lol I mean it is brutal.

A lot of people who started on consoles start that way when they get into PC gaming, but at some point you either embrace mouse and keyboard or just get smoked. There is simply no way to be as split second accurate and quick with a controller as a mouse and keyboard, there are some people who are so good with controllers they come "close" but never enough to be competative. As long as you're playing the "fireteam mode" against AI you might do okay. (maybe but doubtfully. But against human controlled enemy (which is omcing in new modes) it's just not going to be viable. The Ai is pretty damn quick, I can't imagine getting very far clearing rooms with a controller. I have a set up for my sons xbox where I can hook up a device that allows me to use mouse and keyboard.....it's like cheating when I have tried it...no matter the title. The mouse is just the weapon of a PC-Gaming-Jedi. Controller is always gonna play catch up on FPS.

I think I know what you mean but there is some realism there in that you have lights and they don't....that's a real effect in a dark environment the glare of a light freezes most people for a moment, and that's usually all the moment you need. Sometimes the Ai pauses when first hit with a light, sometimes they just immediately spray wildly in your direction, and sometimes that does hit you and put you down. Sometimes they just miss....it feels fairly accurate. I will say as brutal as it is, sometimes it is a bit forgiving. Ready or not is probably more unforgiving then this. I think it might give body armor more credit then it should.

@Sgt_Nick_Fury I might have misread something about squadmates being AI. As far as using the mouse and keyboard,I used to do only mouse and keyboard, but recently have found it more enjoyable with a controller.

He asked if it supported it, and I responded that I think it did, but might not be viable for competative play.....sorry if that triggored you.

I was the one who asked if controller was supported, not how good M&K is. We get it, M&K is superior, but if someone asks if its controller supported, I am pretty sure they can play on M&K if they wanted to.

Whatever...

Also while on the subject of viable things, note that this game requires open mic all the time for local play. As such playing with speakers is a no go, as if you waltz in a group echoing you're most likely to get kicked. If you play in an area with lots of background noise, (kids, dogs, angry spouse) everyone will hear it. I'm not a fan of this decision, but I understand the reasoning it certainly is more immersive to just be able to talk local for local conversation....and then use radio when your out of range, likewise when you use radio like in the real world you have to physically do so, and that means taking a small moment away from sites etc to tap radio on vest. This makes it that much more realistic....however it also means you MUST use headphones, and your play environment has to be condusive. There's a lot of pressure to change that. They do have a button you can press to mute you mic momentarily, but I'd like it to be the otherway around.
