When the Pub was the Mercury Theatre, it was a really fun place to see music. Good times, good times...

Oh, wow. The Mercury Theatre. Good times indeed. Legendary. Glad someone else here was there for that, sir.

1. On the best day of his life, Patrick Beverley can't think about guarding Ramar Smith. Detroit kicks Chicago's a$$. 2. Vader, Jill still works at PP. That means it is still worth showing up.

Get Jerry West or Mark Warkentein on the record about who the stud on UT's roster is. While you're at it, ask John Calipari or Andy Kennedy. It's Ramar Smith. It is not really close.

Downtown Vol, I would consider it an honor to have a beer with you. I'll be at PP before the Vanderbilt game.

Foster, maybe, but you cannot say Ramar is straight up better than Beverly. Beverly averages 14ppg, 4.6rpg, 3.5apg, 1.9steals pg, which ranks 4th in the league, shoots 45% from behind the 3 point line, which is also 4th in the league. Ramar is averaging 10ppg, 3.4rpg, 3apg, 0.9 steals per game, shoots 43%, mostly driving to the basket (see layups), and shoots 30% on threes. Beverly is better than Ramar right now.
who has been scoring more in conference games?

I could have sworn he said next season, thus, this season's stats are almost meaningless for this discussion, except when you look to see how easy it will be for Smith to be better than Beverly next year.

Rats! I knew making Hat a Volnation GURU would do this! Now he is all nice and respectable. I liked the prior sarcastic, Scrooge-like version better.:cray:

Yeah Bacchus working the door, the "green" room upstairs before shows. That was an awesome place and not as commerical as the pub is now. Here is a good one from about that time. The Snakesnatch. It was a small hole in the wall down from the merc. good times and of coarse Griffens in the fort. Hat, will look for you guys saturday and the Pub.

Bradshaw is hustler. Has lost his shooting from the outside. Agree, reign him back right now on those shots for now.

I am confident he will re-emerge when the meds wear off.

LSU is really suffering without a PG. They don't spread the floor and work it around. They basically run down the court try to force the defense down and take a run at the basket.

some quick thoughts, courtesy of the new Cingular Blackjack: 1. LSU is finished. They show no evidence of having been coached. 2. Jordan Howell continues to prove people like me wrong. Another solid, steady contribution to a big win. 3. Dane Bradshaw must get a red light. He just cannot shoot the basketball. 4. Ramar Smith will be one of the five best players in the SEC next year. 5. Our inside guys did a great job on Glenn Davis. He got nothing easy. Overall, a monumental win.

Wow, you know basketball better than me, but I must be coming around. I had a lot of these same thoughts.

Specifically number 3, Dane has got to learn his role. He is an awful shooter and does not need to be yanking up 3's thinking he is Chris Lofton. In fact, I am thinking he is the last person on the squad that should be throwing them up.

Ramar is so damn smooth. He is a natural at driving to the basket.

Dane used to be able to shoot the 3 ball...something's happened that made him awful at shooting anything.

he is very average

I like the guy . . . but that is being very kind. It's almost blasphemy to criticize Bradshaw though with all the things he does for the team. I cringed last night watching the poor guy get abused on those rebounds after missed foul shots.

Yea, his effort makes him a fan favorite. But I would bet he is the worst shooter on the team, from any range. And I am not being sarcastic.
