We're closer than you think.

I disagree. In order for our fans to make a real home-field advantage, one of these must be occurring:
1. First defensive possession of the game
2. On defense when winning by 2+ touchdowns
3. Last defensive possession when game is close

Other than that, there's a good chance it'll be quite silent in Neyland. Mid-way through the 3rd quarter when the score is close and we just punted, it's not gonna be loud.

i like to stand but understand not everyone else does so i follow the crowd.
Come to think of it no one in my section stands for the entire game. If you did stand and the people behind you werent able to because of age, kids, etc and you never sat down then you are a dirtbag.

The only people you should sit down for are handicap people. Who knows how many games they've been to.

This may sound mean, but old people shouldn't go if that's how they are going to be. They've had their whole life to go to games. Home crowd is suppose to be an advantage. Older people do nothing to help that... watch from your TV. Better view regardless of your age and probably healthier.

I suppose you could ask how many games they've been to... unless it's their first, do as you please. I remember going to Hulk Hogan vs Flair as a kid and the security picked on families standing on their chairs because drunk people didn't listen to them.

I stand when appropriate (i.e. big 3rd downs, in the red zone, etc.). But regardless of whether you are sitting or standing, people need to get loud. I took a friend of mine to a game last year and the entire way up to Knoxville I was telling him about how awesome the atmosphere would be. After being yelled at several times to sit down, even at an appropriate time, my buddy said that it was one of the least exciting games he had been to in the SEC. People need to get up and get loud.

They need to sell standing room tickets only. Save a buck or two...and let the old foggies sit if that is what they choose.

I had a SRO student ticket for the 2005 home opener. I waited too long to get tickets and that's all they had; the view sucked but at least I got to go.

I mainly stand but I sit during breaks and boring moments. I think people need to understand that part of attending a football game is being involved as a fan and that means standing and cheering for your team especially when they are on defense. If you don't like fan involvement you are welcome to sell your ticket to a real fan and stay at home if you don't like people standing and yelling to support their team. Considering the size of Neyland it is shockingly quiet most of the time. The only time I've ever heard it as loud as it should be was the Florida game the year we won the National Championship.

Ah the "real fan" argument again, eh?

My seats are in Section G so I stand about 80% of the game. I have the student section in front and beside me. What I hate the most is people buying the tickets behind us complaining about standing. They should have researched their ticket before they bought them.

Stand/sit. If God didn't want you to sit every once in a while he wouldn't have put sooo much fat on yo' azz.

That said... once the Vols start winning/competing against our major rivals on a consistent basis Neyland will be as loud as any stadium in the country.

Sit/stand. You have to respect the others around you....unless they are from the opposing team. They can all go to HELL!!! :moon2:

I agree, Sit/stand. no reason to stand the whole game. I stand when neccesary, big conversions, redzone, big plays,,,,

Generally I stand when I yell and I yell when I feel like the team could use the extra noise for motivation or to mess up the opposing team.

So I guess I stand a lot when we are on Defense and scream to annoy the opposing team.

It depends on the school though too, when we play Fla, I stand the whole game almost, when we play Tenn-Martin, I will sit a lot, unless there is a big play.

I stand AND sit. I also realize that doing either of those things, doesn't change the outcome of the game.
