saw that yesterday.....bama on twice. hm.

i aslo found it interesting that the USC/Cal game is on there, but not the TN/Cal game.
i would think that before the CAl/USC game has any real national signifigance it would have to be precluded by Cal beating TN.

otherwise, it's just lil bro trying to beat his bigger brother again.

Plus where is UT/UF...y'all came within inches of beating them last year.

we're not on the national radar and we dont deserve to be right now. Who knows? maybe that will motivate Phil to "coach 'em up", I doubt it, but you never now. The sad reality of this article is right now, hawaii and boise state are more relevant on the national scene than the Big Orange. Where's OrangeSquare when you need him? I need somebody to explain to me how this isnt Phil's fault and how we're really a program that's on the rise again.

Nonsense, nonsense and more nonsense......Hawaii and Boise State have never been more relevent in college football than TN and never will be. This is 1 guys opinion on some of the top games and nothing more....the only reason that they made his or anybody else's list is because both of their schedules this year are so weak that it is very likely that the winner will finish the year undefeated. I don't think TN commands the respect that we once did, but we are still plenty relevent in the college football world. Is TN still one of the elite?...probably not...but behind the 8 ball to Hawaii and Boise State....hardly.

The last time I remember Boise State vs Hawaii got so much hype Boise State won 69-3.

I think that game is included for USC's sake, not Cal's. The point is that neither Cal nor Tennessee is anywhere on the NC radar at this point. Agreed that the first game of the season may really set a precedence for the rest of the year. If we could beat them like a drum again, it would certainly get us off on the right foot, making the Florida matchup even bigger.

Cal is still living off of that 2003 win over the Trojans. I saw one publication that said Cal-USC is the nation's best new rivalry. It's preposterous.

I imagine that if you looked really closely at the fine print you'd see that was produced by Teddyhead&Seth Publishers Inc.

I agree, first of all I'm not even sure how anyone could make an argument for Hawaii. Boise St. probably has more hype because they broke through and beat one of the big boys. This is a "what have you done for me lately world" and Tennessee really hasn't done much of anything since '98, but Boise St. will be old news as soon as they lose a game and their chance of making it to a BCS bowl is over. To become more relevant the Vols simply need to make and win a BCS bowl. When will that happen? Who knows.

Is it just me or is USC goin to crush CAL?

3/5 of Tedford's games against SC were decided in the last 2 minutes of the game. 1 was tied going into the 4th quarter. The other our backup qb threw 4 ints and we got blown out. The game is in berkeley. It wont be a blowout.

I'd rather us not be on the radar. The more attention we get, the more distractions we get.

What do you see the major playing style difference is between TENN. and USC?

What was the CAL/USC score last year?

SC 23 - Cal 9

Cal had the lead at the half and it was tied going into the 4th quarter. SC scored two late TDs to put it away. We play well at home though, so i'd expect the game to be closer this year.

If Cal had played Tenn. within 10 and USC within 10 then they would have a lot more respect. I think the loss of Lynch is a big plus for us.

Bama, LSU and USC are the only teams that have 2 games each on that list. But then again, those are the 3 most dominant teams.
