Since we seem to be so hung up on Florida

You must have thousands that can tell the future down there in Hogtown because of the issues myself and others have had were BEFORE the game, which makes your statement rather silly.

Just don't go to away games then, or go to Vandy or Miss St, Memphis, etc. Either that or just develop thicker skin. Unless you are being physically accosted does it really bother you that bad what drunk college kids say to you?

When they were jumping in front of my wife and me shouting obscenities while we tried to walk away? Yeah.

I also had a whiskey bottle flung in my direction. Fortunately, they were about as accurate as our QB has been.

I've had the same thing in Knoxville, kids following me to and from the stadium cussing me the whole way. I will say I have never had any of your fans try to get physical, although in 2000 after the Gaffney "catch" some kids poured beer on us (it never felt so good).
The Swamp is a tough place to play, but we the fans don't play so it shouldn't be tough for you while trying to root on your team. Next year if I'm still on the board here, I'll invite VolNation over to our tailgate for some good fun

I have been to Florida twice, LSU twice, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Miss State and Arkansas.

Florida wasn't that bad (of course we won both times 01 & 03), LSU wasn't the most pleasant experience but Arkansas was by far the worse. I will see how Auburn is this weekend.

If Fulmer is still here, I doubt I will be going, but thanks for the invite.

And yes, I've had several instances of having someone trying to get physical. Verbal is fine, it's fun really, but keep your filthy hands off me. LOL

Winning cures all!! I agree on LSU, I go every other year and it's got to the point my wife won't go back there. The afternoon games aren't that bad, but night games can be a little scary, especially if you lose.

I've been to a few Vandy games(when they haven't played us)and every time I wore my orange gear. From my experiences of going there they were not pleasant.I was getting reemed left and right by Vandy fans.I will not ever go back to a Vandy game.

I think we have all seen enough to realize all fan bases have their idiots. This is why I conceded the point earlier.

Vandy fans like to remind you that they are smarter than you are because they pay 35,000 a year for an undergraduate education. Yelling obscenities to no one in particular about the opposition's IQ really helps you look smart.

Vandy fans talking smack? Wow!! I guess that's because of the Tenn. thing, I have Never heard anything that resembled smack coming from a Vandy fan

USAF veteran myself.

I've not been to the swamp but the first two Vol fans I met who had been there told me the same thing, they said they would never go again.

One was in a tuxedo in a place that a dinner for six = $2,000+, the other was a filmmaker on a set who made $1,000+ per day.

I asked the same question of each; "why not?"

The answer was the same; "because I don't want to kill anybody and if I went back and they did the same I would kill some little SOB."

The first said he didn't see the humor in having a cup of pee thrown at him and the other said he didn't like having his mother cursed and his car keyed and radio aerial broken off right in front of him.

I have no problem with Arian knocking down a nut grabbing gator, if it were me I would put an Albert Haynesworth style cleat stomp on him to boot.

Ah, yes, you sampled two UT fans out of the tens if not hundreds of thousands that have been to Gainesville in the last ten years and who interacted with two of the millions of Florida fans that have been there in the last ten years.

From that, we can reliably extrapolate that all UT fans are treated badly by all UF fans each and every time. And because of that, it is okay for Foster to commit a personal foul even though it set up third and long and contributed in a minor way to a fumble the next play.

My hat is off to you, sir, first for the most statistically idiotic thing I've ever read, and second for drawing perhaps the least warranted or justified conclusion possible.

Well done. Can you entertain us next with stories of burning witches and curing the plague by drowning people?
