You can't deny the truth, that man has taken us to an elite level and frankly is the second most important/greatest coach ever to coach at UTK.

I still don't like him though.

Was a born UT fan I believe.
My Mom was from Waynesville, NC. In the days before I-40 we would drive thru Cumberland on our trips to NC. I was very young but remember how impressed by the architecture and how beautiful the campus was. And how "cool" all the students looked and how I wanted to be "cool" like that when I grew up. lol
Unfortunately, my parents were poor so, I had to settle for MTSU. But, my son went to UT...so, I sorta' got my wish!!

Both my parents attended UT, my Dad is from Knoxville, my Mom from the Tri-cities. I was born in the UT hospital. I always watched the games with my dad, but I first became a true Vol fan after watching the 1991 UT vs ND game in South Bend.

Since then I attended like 6 years worth of the summer football camps, and every Christmas have gotten mostly Vol gifts.

My reason...

I didn't want to become a Buckeye fan, so I went with the state I was born in.

Born in Cincinnati, family moved to Lenoir City when i was 6 cause my Dad got a job at TVA. Grew into loving the Vols from there. My dad is a big fan too.

My granparents went to Knoxville High (or whatever that old building on a hill downtown used to be), my parents went to Fulton in the 60's, and my dad graduated from UT in '71. I lived in Knoxville from '73-'76, but grew up in Nashville. I moved back to Knoxville for college, graduated and now I live in Chattanooga. Orange was the first color I remember seeing. The 1979 Notre Dame game was my first UT game.

I didn't know any other way.

Neither will my son.

I'm from Cookeville TN. My folks were good people, but they were poor and uneducated, and for the first ten years of my life sports were simply not part of my world. Then my folks divorced and my mom remarried. My stepfather was a RABID football fan who remembered the glory days of General Neyland. He turned me on to the Vols, and from 1960 onward I've been a huge fan. Even as a teen-ager I lived and died with the Vols. Went to a few games - very few, actually, but the few trips were awesome experiences - listened to the rest on the radio, read both Knoxville and Nashville papers on Sundays to relive the accounts of the games.

I didn't go to school at UT. My folks were not people of means, and I had to choose the least expensive way to go to college. That meant staying at home and attending Tennessee Tech. No regrets. I graduated without owing a dime and got a solid engineering degree from Tech that served me very well during a 31-year career in telecommunications. But I was always a UT sports fan, especially football.

I've lived all over the southeast over the years - Tennessee, Georgia (two different times), Alabama, finally North Carolina, but I never stopped being a die-hard Vol fan for one second and have remained one for all these years.

Go Vols!!
