Since ESPN hates us...

Herbstreit is probably nicer to UT now since he lives in the state and doesn't want to get run out like what happened when he lived in Ohio.

I think I saw something about the Boise State-Michigan State game being on a Saturday now instead of a Friday. So what is taking up space on regular ESPN to relegate the UT-State game to ESPN U?

...And they definitely do, shouldn't our natural reaction be to hate them back? And take action that proves our hatred just as they do to us?

I'm thinking boycott, for starters. Make is so that the entire state of Tennessee is totally off the grid when it comes to ESPN viewership.

Once they realize what's happening, we hack into their servers and shut down their site, but preferably their live broadcast. We redirect their feed to a basement of UT fanboys holding Stuart Scott hostage.

The climax of the takeover will be changing the ESPN logo to orange instead of red, and making sure the world knows that this 5-7 football team and its fans are here to stay!

That might work until they air one of our games.

"ESPN HATES EVERYONE"

Do a google search on "ESPN hates us" and almost every team from every sport claims the same thing.

And we actually had an Espn announcer (fowler) call our fans trailer trash.

And in 97 pretty sure they pushed hard for Woodson to get the heisman. Still a joke that a DB won. Pretty sure deon grant had more INTs than Woodson either that yr or in 98.

Any other school have something like that to point to?

He didn't say that.

He didn't say that.

Hmmmmm.... Pretty sure I was right so googled it.

Found this--
"Of course, it didn’t help that Game Day’s Chris Fowler had referred to many Tennessee fans as trailer park trash in the wake of Peyton Manning not receiving the Heisman Trophy in 1997."

what's your source for that quote?

Fowler said UT fans were worked into a "trailer park frenzy" not that they were trailer trash

Well snap. Didn't know this was gonna be a big deal. Haha.

I had always heard that he called us trailer trash. That post earlier was pasted from bleacherreport.

I don't know. Maybe I have been mistaken. Ha. If so I apologize to anyone apparently offended. Though trailer park frenzy and trailer trash is not much different is it? Haha

Ok on the google search there are a lot of sources saying the trailer trash or trailer park trash or trailed park frenzy.

So regardless of the actual wording apparently some comment was made. Haha

Not that we help ourselves and our image with incidents like mattress burnings. Ha!

GBO!

volssam,

It's OK. If a UT player or coach was misquoted UT fans would be on them like stink on S_ _t!

What a person says and what people think they said are often 2 entirely different things. Try it sometime with someone. Tell them something and ask them to repeat what was said. Often times they won't repeat exactly what you told them.

Trust me. I have been misquoted before. Can result in drama city

I guess my original point still is - something derogatory was apparently said. Either way it just helps to play into the whole Espn hates us thing which is probably a bit overhyped but tough to not see some kind of bias at times. Or maybe it's just us FANatics that see it because we want to. Ha
