Simple Choice

Keep living in misery….. lose the fan base…. It’s freaking game two…. Our fans are ridiculous.
So are those that said this guy was a Cam Newton or Tebow... remember those convos ? Picking apart Tebow and his awful mechanics ? Yeah this guy isn't anywhere near that caliber

Anyone watched the game again? I may check it out in a few..... without beer

Next Saturday is a big game for Tennessee and its future.... am I being melodramatic?
No it’s big. I’m my opinion one of the most exciting. Cjh has a huge opportunity to move the fan base and program a big step forward by winning…but if we lose it’s not the end of the world. Should be fun

That’s fair….. he needs to improve or he won’t be playing QBs here…. I will wait till they run the offense though to judge him…. If he plays like last week then he won’t make it long but I have faith in coach Heup.

Just hoping Heupel does not have a man-crush on Milton like Pruitt did with JG. I really don't think so. He does know a good QB when he sees one so if a change is needed he will do it.
Man crush? Sadly JG was the best we had those years. Did you see the other guys? Lol. Pruitt literally bit his tongue to throw JG back in vs UK in 2019 after the Bama debacle and he saved the game and the season. The QB room was just that bad and that could potentially be the same here. By all accounts (not just the coaches) JM has been the best (though Hooker made a run at it at one point and apparently had a really consistent camp).

Heupel has swapped QBs early in the season a handful of times. He isn't going to sit on an egg. Hooker will be in there by H2 if Milton is absolutely bombing. Otherwise, I think you have to let your QB1 make mistakes, learn, and develop.

To me it seems likely that he does, just going off the fact that Bailey didn't see the field last night, which to me is inexcusable. But to me it's inexcusable that a supposed offensive guru thought Milton was our best option.

If he pulls a Pruitt and keeps playing him, he's tying his own noose and we'll be back here in three years with another new coach.

Possibly sooner, but, coaching searches do seem to be more fun than watching UT football these days!

A year 4 guy should not be making these types of mistakes if he is what he thinks he is either. Just saying

Again this is also the hope. If he isn't getting it done then the next guy up

We as Tennessee fans KNOW bad QB play more than any other fanbase. Sunshine pumper or negavol and everything in between. We KNOW bad QB play.

I'm not saying Milton is JG.
But there is no excuse for yesterday. Fundamentally BAD QB play.
And then he uttered that he himself thought he played well...smh

As many of you know; I was highly optimistic of Milton after seeing his terrible supporting cast at Michigan and seeing him make next level throws. There was no precision to his game last night. And I don't believe there ever will be. There's just no excuse for the lack of energy and movement in the pocket. It's terrible fundamentally AND for team chemistry. It ZAPS the energy out of the whole damn stadium.

So here's our SIMPLE CHOICE. Believe that Heupel will see the light and try to manufacture good QB play from one of the backups or by committee, or Heupel change's his offense. Bailey needs to get his chance sometime during the Pittsburgh game, or Heupel risks losing the fanbase.
He brought this kid in, and named him the starter...and then we had to watch that mess.

Well said!

I was going to post about Michigan football today playing Western Michigan. They will go bowling.

This is just a lie. I'm amazed, not in a good way, at how many on here are repeating this mindless mantra that Milton has to be the best QB we have simply because he's the one the coach has decided to play.

Do you really think we're all blind? Do you really think the only people in America fit to judge a quarterback's abilities are ones currently employed as coaches? One game last year for Bailey was enough to prove that anyone who claims Milton is better is just lying. Bailey's stats prove it, our eyes prove it, and the sportswriters who tweeted as much prove it. I don't remember which thread on here it was but someone posted a link to several tweets by gentlemen I had not heard of but whom are evidently known in the sports world who were calling out this coaching staff, during the game Thursday, for playing Milton instead of Bailey. Why? Because they have eyes, just like we do.

Have coaches both at the college and pro levels made the mistake more than once of being wowed by a big arm when the QB in question didn't have the requisite timing, processing, and other abilities that a successful QB has to have? Of course they have; and that doesn't make it any more acceptable to further run our program into the ditch by doing it again now. Kyle Shanahan is considered one of the top offensive minds in the NFL; he drafted Trey Lance over Mac Jones, and there's more than a decent chance that decision will cost him his job in two or three years when Jones, the non-flashy, non-big-arm guy who just moves the ball and gets it done, has been to a SB and Lance is being traded for a sixth-round draft pick. Two months ago every commentator and sportswriter was calling Jones the consolation prize of the first-round QBs and putting him a whole class below the flashier guys who went in the top three; now that he is simply doing the same thing he did at Bama, throwing completion after completion, making accurate throw after accurate throw on time, suddenly he's the front-runner for offensive rookie of the year.

We don't get guys who are polished out of high school every day. Bray wasn't polished; he had a big arm. Dobbs wasn't even in the ballpark of polished; he could run, and throw it hard. Ainge was the last QB we had that already knew how to go through reads and make an accurate pass on time as a freshman. And now we have another one - and he's sitting on the bench because we hired another K-Mart coach who is falling for the big arm over actual ability to play the position. The only thing worse than having a coach who supposedly is an offensive guru and is making the single biggest mistake on offense that can ever be made by a coach, is having a bunch of shills on here braying that mindless mantra over and over.

Tebow was Brady and Vick rolled into one compared to Milton.

You have some valid points but I will defend Heupel for now. He has pulled his guy before and expect he will in this case if the play continues. I would say another sh1t half of football mext week and we will see a new guy. At least I hope.

I think CJH knows a little more about his QB's than you do...Let me see, Trust some guys opinion on a football forum or trust a guy who makes 4 million a year and KNOWS what he is doing...Hmmmm...I'm gonna go with the guy who makes 4 million a year

"But according to skeptical NFL scouts, Wuerffel lacks the frame, throwing motion, and arm strength of a classic pro quarterback."

"Danny's ability to consistently throw to the right spot is what has enabled him to be such a productive and winning quarterback." Kansas City Chiefs coach Marty Schottenheimer

Did you trust Pruitt ? He made about the same. And I stand with Heupel because he has shown to make a change. Even if its his guy. So I trust if the play continues we will see a new qb.

Oh hell no, I didn't trust Pruitt when he was first hired..Defensive guy making qb choices is a disaster waiting to happen as you and everybody else saw...CJH is different, He knows the position and whats best for it.

I sincerely hope you're right. If you're wrong it's going to be a long, ugly season.
