Simms upset according to Rucker

It went something like this......

"Waaaahhhh. My daddy. I want my daddy. Coach doesnt like me. It wasnt my fault. Wahhhhh.

I didnt screw up like he did. Waaaahhhh. I only fumbled twice and created a 14 pont swing for the other team. Waaahh. Neither were my fault. Waaahhh. I'm calling my daddy. Waaahhhh!"

Or something lie that. I dont know. I was a little drunk when I read his crybaby crap.

^word for word

if anyone has heard anything from DD about Matts Simms comments after the game. I am sure he wasn't happy about them, curious to see if he punishes him or just reminds him of how things are going. If anyone has already talked about this I apologize, I have not been able to get on today until now.

I cant see him punishing him, its a lousy spot for everyone. Simms played fairly well, but he isnt good enough to eat up substantial playing time as he isnt part of the long term plan.

Thanks for the info...If simms is a true team player he would shut his mouth and work hard at getting better. Competition brings out the best in everyone......if he wants to posion the team, he is throwing away what career he has left.

On both of his fumbles he had plenty of time to either run or get rid of the ball. It wasn't the best protection - but he holds the ball too long like always. Those 2 TOs off-set any good he did for the game.

Yeah, Simms is the only player to have an uncanny nake to keep both teams in the game at the same time. If Bray doesn't start next week, I would be very surprised.

"I wish I could say that I'm definitely the starting quarterback," Simms said. "It's unfortunate they took me out. I felt like I played really well. I feel like I could have made all those throws because we had guys wide open down the middle of the field.

Since when? I thought the middle of the field was off-limits to Simms.

Simms is all about Simms, and he is NOT a TEAM player period. If he were he would admit HE made mistakes, shut up, show the coaches he has learned from his mistakes in practice and be ready for his next chance. When a team struggles like we have you have to make a change. Coaches make changes in other positions all the time, so now it should be Bray's chance to show what he is made of. GBO :lolabove:

Bray has shown impressive accuracy and speed of delivery downfield. We also have tremendous talent at receiver positions. Bray will allow us to spread the field, throw between the hashes and score big - including opening up the middle for Poole.

Trashing Simms for his understandably frustrated comments is dishonest crap - and the guilty consciences here know it.

What possible evidence could you cite to prove anyone here has a guilty conscience in this matter?

I used to like Simms, but his comments and attitude after Saturdays game have completely turned me off. He needs to sit on the bench and keep his mouth shut. Bray is the better QB, and actually took responsibility for his mistake rather than blaming the 0-line like Simms did. So....who is the freshman QB again? Simms need to man up or shut up.

Those like you who pretend bashing Simms for his frustrated comments as "Crying", a "baby", "Whiner", "attitude", "Not a Team player", "creating divison", "His Daddy this and that" are really just innocently critiquing his play.

Their jeering and feigned indignance is dishonest childish schoolyard crap.

Bray should start, but ripping apart Simms to build up Bray is stupid. Hell, there is no indication his turnover comments had anything to do with Bray. Many of you just want blood - and will say any BS to get it.

Don't believe that was the game changer. Not to me, anyway.

Me either we had 3 3 and outs on the. Simms lost the ball in the red zone they were both equally bad for us and we didn't capitalize when we given the chance by the football Gods

so you don't think the comments have anything to do with the int Bray threw? He's understandably upset but he just needs to handle it better

I remember Cromp taking the same kind of beating on here, Ainge as well. (I was as guity as anybody) so I will reserve judgement. But if Bray lays an egg.....

I can assure you I don't have a guilty conscience about criticizing his comments blaming his offensive line for the second fumble and throwing Bray under the bus when he has tossed several INTs directly into the defense (Alabama - costing us points, Oregon, Florida). Your opinion of any of this doesn't faze my conscience one bit.

Dooley said Simms apologized for his post game comments and that those comments had no effect on his decision to start Bray.

he did but I don't remember Cromp putting it in the press

In Simms defense, he had really played fairly well, and was replaced only to watch Bray come in and basically knock us out of the game with an inexcusable pick-6. It was good to see Bray come back and play well after that, but the game was lost on that play. Can't blame Simms for being upset, it's not his fault the line can't block anybody.

Im sure the game was not lost on the previous two fumbles by simms

For anyone who is defending Simms' post game reaction and quotes need to go and watch Donovan McNabb's postgame interview. McNabb was pulled with 2 mins left in the game with a chance to comeback for Rex Grossman. Donovan took it like a man and just said its the coaches decision, I don't like being pulled but he made the decision that he thought was best for the team. This is how Simms should have handled his post game interviews.
