Rucker is an enabler.

"this is Simms team"

Both of them need to man up

Simms needs to get over it. He needs to figure out quickly he won't make any money as a player but can still do very well as a coach.

He is a competitor, I wouldn't want him being happy with being benched.

In Simms defense, he had really played fairly well, and was replaced only to watch Bray come in and basically knock us out of the game with an inexcusable pick-6. It was good to see Bray come back and play well after that, but the game was lost on that play. Can't blame Simms for being upset, it's not his fault the line can't block anybody.

He's been unhappy before today. Started with the first QB rotation. I think he's been waiting for the light to come on by itself. Apparently, the genes didn't flow to him.

Don't believe that was the game changer. Not to me, anyway.

To Bray's defense he came back and scored 2 TD's to make up for it. I think the game was lost on Gordon's 3rd Punt fumble of the year.

Breaking news-- Vols fans are very, very unhappy, too. He killed the momentum not once, but twice... and that's just today.

On both of his fumbles he had plenty of time to either run or get rid of the ball. It wasn't the best protection - but he holds the ball too long like always. Those 2 TOs off-set any good he did for the game.

Then he probably needs to work on his game, he holds the ball WAY TOO LONG. To me, the SEC is way too fast for him and he can't adjust. He can back-up the freshman the rest of this year and next...GBO

No we lost the game when we couldn't recover the South Carolina muffed punt.

His two inexecusable fumbles had nothing to do with it? Dude seriously doesn't know when to get rid of the ball. His alarm clock is broke.

Our cobbled-together O line can only hold off the big nasties so long. We have to have a quick-release QB. It's much more critical for us than for bigger, more experienced teams. Simms doesn't fit our needs right now. Just not his year.

No, its not his fault he takes to much time to get rid of the ball and it's really not his fault he can't secure the ball while being pressured. :)

Without the INT the game could have gone a totally different way. The fumbled punt was bad, but throwing a pick six to a d-lineman is beyond indefensible. That boneheaded play aside, Bray did look the part of an SEC qb for the rest of the game.

He can't be expected to simply drop back and cover up the ball. He has to at least try to make a play sometimes rather than just take a sack and try to get to a punt on 4th down without turning the ball over. The o-line just sucks out loud this year. I'm not disagreeing that Bray looked like the better QB today, I'm just saying I can see why Simms would be upset when he had made some good throws and got yanked without ever really making a mistake.
