10/13 153 yards, TD 0 ints.

The first fumble was not his fault at all. The second was partially his fault for not controlling the ball while moving through traffic. Both were the result terrible blind side protection.

He would never have thrown that pick six. Many high school QBs would have been able to read the defense on that route.

All that said... Bray recovered well and played pretty good the rest of the way, however saying Simms takes too many sacks is like the pot calling the kettle black if you think Bray doesn't do the exact same thing. We don't have the line to protect for all the pass plays the moronic Jim Chaney calls throughout the course of a game.

I'm not saying Bray shouldn't play the rest of the season, all I'm saying is Simms was having a pretty gritty and good game, probably his best as a Vol, when he got benched.

no - just no. It was Simms fault on both occasions. Had plenty of time to get rid of it. Holds the ball too long.

i respectfully disagree. I like simms...he is a tough nosed kid. That being said, he is far too slow in his decision making. He puts up decent numbers, but he does not have those intangibles that are so freaking important. This is not the first instance of him holding onto the ball for far too long. That is what caused his axing.

Here we go with the Chaney crap again.
You never learn.

He holds the ball too long, takes unnecessary sacks, doesn't have enough pocket presents and ultimately doesn't make enough plays. Bray seems to be much better at those things and Bray is the future.

Yes, he should have.

Did you not see how many times Bray got out of pressure with breaking tackles and throwing it away? Simms has made too many mistakes when it matters. you cannot give it up on the 10 yard line and lose it to start a half. they both had good games but it all stems down to POCKET PRESENCE.

Simms has had many chances and has not made the most of them. He might get more. Or not. Working on his skill set and release would help. Or not. His teammates even said they needed to try something different. They have... and so far, it's an improvement.

dooley wont miss the perfect opportunity of letting bray start against a weak opp. such as memphis. perfect game for him to get going. Simms can enjoy holding a clipboard. that is all.

He should have been. You can't hold on to the ball that long, especially when you hold it to your stomach.

I agree Simms hasnt been doing his line any favors, he has no internal clock and this has been an ongoing problem all year. bray is the guy he proved it today.

Dooley warned him once on the sidelines about holding the ball too long. It happened again and he sat on the bench the rest of the game. I have no problem with that.

Simms was completely outplayed by Bray in the game. If Simms was still in the game, we lose by more than 14.
