Simms' pocket presence

A few weeks ago on a Sunday morning talk show, they had a segment on there making fun of all the fans that would go to work and say how Simms holds the ball too long. I didn't want to be that guy even though I had thought that for a while. Well call me crazy but his pocket presence could use some work. He lacks the clock in his head, he can not feel the pressure, and he doesn't step up well. Bray is a freshman and has all of these abilities, so experience may not help Simms much with his pocket presence. He just doesn't have it. I wish him luck in the future but must admit I'm excited about Bray being our starter! Go Vols!

Didn't you hear? It was the O-lines fault that he was sacked and fumbled the ball. It's not his fault that he was only given 8 seconds to get rid of the ball. He's not his father and he needs to quit acting like he is. He needs to take it like a man and own up to it. Yes he has been sacked several times this season because of the O-lines lack of experience, but majority of the time it's him holding on too long. Bray had no problem escaping the rush

He is the second coming of santa in the backfield since Arian Foster. Only difference is Simms won't get a chance to be a stud in the league

Truth is, the first fumble can hardly be blamed on Simms when the LT completely whiffs his block. But the 2nd fumble he really should've gotten that throw out somewhere. Protection wasn't great, but it was good enough to get the ball out.

I didn't mean for this to be a make fun of Simms thread. He has been tough in the pocket at least. And he may end up being the starter in the end. If Bray can not handle the pressure of being the starter then Simms will be back. Let's not beat him down like Crompton.
