Simms is committed to becoming a better QB...

Simms would be a decent qb with an established running game. I know that would be true with all qb's, but look at the defenses he has faced. He was a tackling dummy last year! He is the 3rd best qb on the team either with or without a running game!

Show of hands....how many of you bashed Scotty Hopson when he was here? Yet show sympathy to Simms?

Whats the odds that he becomes a GA?

Doubt it. Pretty sure he wants to work in the NFL. It would be interesting to know what he really thinks about Dooley anyway. Clearly Matt has his limitations, but I wonder how he feels this coaching staff has handled this situation? Would be interesting to say the least.

Would be interesting indeed.

I know Phil has connections but do you think he could start out in the nfl? Would seem to me he'd have a better chance to get a year or two of coaching under his belt at this level.

Besides...the reaction on this board would be epic.

I don't like making fun of him.

He doesn't have the talent to make it, but he never gave up on UT.

I'll cheer when they call his name senior night.

This is a standup post ...I'm with on this seems to be a good guy hope he makes it in the coaching circles.

I feel bad for Simms. He was put in a tough situation. It's not his fault that he doesn't have the tools to be a big time QB at this level. He tried hard, but ultimately the program is better off with another QB at the helm. That being said, Simms seems like a good young man is sounds proud to be a VFL.

Why start threads just to bash someone? This happens over and over, people must be really bored in Bucksnort.

He tried hard i guess.. I kinda feel bad for him since his family were so talented. I will definately cheer for him on senior day

Both Matt & Jonathan Crompton before him gave their all despite limitations & some pretty tacky, misguided fans berating their efforts. Crompton proved he had skills once he had the coaching; Simms is more limited physically but will, IMO, become a fine coach. Thanks to both young men!

If everyone put in the kind of work and passion into Tennessee that he does (talent obviously being the X-factor), we would be in the run for a national championship next year.
