I think mentally and as far as managing the game, Simms is definitely better than Crompton was at this point. The coaches need to do the same with Simms as they did with Crompton. They need to roll him out more. The one time they did roll him out he hit Moore on a 49 yard TD strike.
He's not. It's that simple.

Crompton threw a better ball overall...better touch especially.
Simms does seem to have leadership stamina. After making some throwing errors, he didn't pout and turn inside out. Even though he took too many sacks in the game, he threw the ball away rather than throwing a pick 6 like in the UO game. (His two picks against UF were not because of a heavy rush on the play.) He needs to move through his read-progressions faster. He needs to read the field at snap and not just upon drop.
