Simms almost pulled

Dooley definitely said he thought about pulling Simms. I didn't hear him say 2nd quarter but he did in fact say he thought about pulling him. That would have been a big mistake if you ask me. I don't think the guy played bad at all. He can't help the drops.

Agreed.

I'm surprised this wasn't actually mentioned more after the game. Dooley thought it might add a spark. He is considering all options. If Simms lays a bad egg during the lsu game, you might see bray.

in 2nd quarter. per TOS. Anyone confirm?

Dooley said in his post game press conference he thought about it just to see if anyone could get the offense going. Not that Matt was doing bad, because he wasn't. Our recievers were dropping balls.

He did say it during the post games show. What he added was that it was talked about and there had been the thought and discussion that it would maybe ignite a spark. After thinking it over he said that Simms was not the problem for dropped passes or missed assignments, so he decided not to make the change.

DD did say he considered it, but added he was glad he didn't make the change. He thought Simms played well. He talked about his toughness.

You guys who want Bray to play, you might not have too wait long the way Simms was getting banged around. Then we can start complaining about Bray and wondering why Nance is not starting. Not sure who is next in line.

I was surprised when I heard Dooley made those comments. I'm not sure what purpose it served for him to admit he almost played Bray.

There is no way Bray plays in the LSU game unless Simms get's hurt.

I'm not calling for bray to play trust me, but I wouldn't honestly be surprised if something happened that made a change. Lsu has a nasty defense that will make our offense possibly look really bad again. Poole is hurt too and oku hasn't looked exactly like he's really to step up to fill poole's shoes. It would take a lot of different factors atm, but I wouldn't rule out bray not coming in for a series if our offense is completely inept.

I'll be honest, Freak - that whole post game-presser surprised me.

They refer to that as "pulling a Fisher". He probably thought about it until he realized how ignorant it would be. Under the provide a spark rule you would have to sit everyone not quite getting it done to really make it happen. We didn't have enough players on the sideline to make that happen. That oline is suspect at best and the receivers are just ughhhh on their route running.
