Its no use with some of these so-called FANS. They didn't like it when Fulmer just sat there and didn't say anything to Spurrier or anyone and we still got beat. Now we have an energetic young coach that is trying to install confidence into a down team and they're not happy with that. He is only 34 years old, he is still learning, he knows he shdn't have said it, has he repeated the error, no, but some people won't let it die. If you are a true fan, you support the coach and team no matter what happens.

Not sure why they made him apologize then. Not sure why the president has told him to stfu then. Not sure why the SEC has told him to stfu then. Not sure why he's getting lambasted by the national media then.

I guess they are all just picking on him.

And yes, I've been to those in Lexington and here in Atlanta (my ex-boss is good friends with Hewitt). I've NEVER heard a coach or A.D. name call and degrade other schools at one. NEVER.

I don't remember that specifically. But no, I wouldn't have enjoyed it because Spurrier is a grade A jackass. I don't think coaches should be trash talking other teams. I always actually liked Fulmer.

Hate can be interpreted as fear. Bullies don't like to have the stage stolen from them. In a year where UF could win a 3rd NC, the country is talking and writing more about the Vols than the Gators. Can you imagine that? The impact is evident in the recruting classes this year. Things are changing.

I'm a UK fan so I would hate him if it was based on wins and losses. He seemed like a decent guy. Though I'm not sure what happened with the whole Alabama thing.

Bottom line is-Simek should not have discussed personel issues in public. He also, along with Kiffin, represents the university in different capacities. He should have never said UCLA was a better academic institution than UT, even if it is true because he is selling the university's academic program. I don't care if he was a great anthropology prof and I took many anthro classes from Bill Bass while attending UT. He is not doing the university any favors with his selling tactics for the academic program.

I believe Simek's statement that UCLA academics is superior to UT's is a bold statement about his failure to establish himself as the leader of our institution and an admission of personal failure based on his assessment of our academic standing (although false).

He basically said "UT sucks academically and I'm in charge of the failing effort"...more or less...

Why is he still here???
