Probably will not see mine till Friday.

Mine was showing exp. delivery next week from Amazon. Since Best Buy is about 2 miles from my house, I just picked it up on the way home and held on to the receipt.

Installing now. I'll post some opinions tomorrow if I get to play any.

My Origin name is rdank

You guys let me know if it's amazing. I don't have a lot of time for videojuegos, but I could learn to make time for SimCity.

Purchased SC 2013 DVD version from Amazon. Last night I learned there was no off-line single player mode as in SC4 and Rush Hour. I want to play when and where I want and not be at the mercy of a server. Returned for refund.

PS: The reviews at Amazon are pretty low.

I think most games will require a persistent connection in the near future for DRM purposes.

The reviews are pretty funny. It was general knowledge that you'd need to be connected to the servers to play, but a surprising number of people were surprised by it.

The EA servers suck, which isn't a surprise in the least if you're familiar with them.

Other than that, the biggest gripe is that there's too much focus on the Sims, as opposed to the city itself. A good comparison was Civilization Revolution vs the full Civilization games.

I wasn't expecting EA server issues but it looks like EA is overwhelmed so I wouldn't be in no hurry to purchase it. Maybe they'll have it resolved by weekend.

I'll tell you what you can do with the new SimCity. You can watch it take forever to install. You can watch it download files. You can watch it download updates and install them. And you can watch it throw up an error when you try to start a city.

Played a bit last night and it crashed after about 15-20 minutes. Restarted my system, got back in, and nothing was saved. Awesome.

Wonder if it saved the second time I tried to play. I'd let you know but it's still downloading and installing today's update. Super!

Not impressed so far. Hope it's fun once all this is sorted out.

The "Mass Appeal" formula is killing the gaming industry just like to did with music. Sad.

Well minus the first night I have not had any issues so far. Maybe I just do not play at peak hours? My city is up to 70K in population and it is starting to look really good. It does not take long at all to run out of room. It would be interesting to see how big a city could actually get.

I have not had many issues minus some small bugs, like the in-game chat with friends. I also had no issues downloading the game. The game itself downloaded in about 10 min, and then when I opened it first it had updates to add which took maybe 25 min. Maybe I had less trouble since I already had the beta?

I have enjoyed it so far. It has been very challenging, especially since my city is evidently a satan spawn. I had about 25 building catch on fire. Then about 5 min after that an earthquake destroyed about 1/3 of the city. Now my new nemesis is traffic.

Fixing to try it out for the first time. I got 3 hours till a meeting so this is a good way to kill that time.
