Silver lining...

At least with other coaches they had bad players, bad coordinator hires, had a stroke after two 9 win seasons but this team just looks like they have no idea wtf is going on...like...I think that’s what it would look like if I was hired.

At least coaching hires are exciting.

Each loss puts us closer to hiring a new coach. And one of the greatest of all time spoke highly on tv about TN a couple of weeks ago.
That's like saying a 350lb girl has a nice personality.

Maybe it's true but it doesn't mean you're gonna be the one that asks her out.

You are really out there if you want Urban Meyer anywhere near this Uni. Has left on bad terms two previous places.

Sadly, I think there is a large portion of the fanbase who permanently wants the coach to be fired..new coach, same story

Realistically it puts us closer to hiring yet another crappy coach. You sound unfamiliar with the Tennessee Way.

It’s sad that some of y’all are just content to have a horrible coach because you didn’t trust us to hire a better one. As a fan I’ll never settle for my school/admiration not trying to get better.

The fact we keep changing coaches every 2-3 years is the main problem here. Each time it's done it compounds the problem. Let Coach play out his contract then move on if it does not work out. No coach thats on the UT fan dream short list is coming anywhere near this program if we fire Pruitt this year. Firing coach this years would be dumb for the program both financially and strategically.

To this date Phil Fulmer has done a great job as AD. It's about more than football. The moves he made on the basketball side thus far are looking to pay off soon. Men's BB is looking to reach a level of sustained success that's unprecedented. The women's BB team might be ready for a return to prominence in a year or two also if this hire works out. If those things do then by the end of Pruitt's current contract the AD will have rebuilt a lot of the bridges it burned the past decade. Tennessee will become an attractive destination again for coaches/agents.

As it stands UTAD Pre-Fulmer had a reputation of incompetence, cheapness and a quick trigger. Firing Pruitt would not help there. Weathering the storm and giving him a more than fair chance would make higher profile coaches more comfortable knowing they are gonna have support because coming into a program they are gonna have to make huge changes to turn it around and those changes will almost always have a lot of early losses and growing pains attached to them. Kiffin started it and no one was ever given a chance to stabilize it since they all got axed and the next guy came in having to fully build from scratch. Outside of Butch Jones I honestly think both Dooley (I know most won't agree) and Kiffin could have turned us around by now given another year or two. Kiffin was bad luck on our part that the perfect storm happened at Seattle/USC to drop a nightmare version of his dream job into his lap. Everyone lost in that situation. He didn't expect sanctions to hit USC as hard as they did. Jones was a snake oil salesman.

Thurs far Pruitt is doing a great job given the circumstances as evidenced by the low attrition and his recruits are performing. Also I'm happy to see in all this mess JJ is playing like the first round talent I always felt he was.

I reiterate. In all this mess Juan Jennings is playing like the beast we all knew he is.
