Silver Lining to all this disappointment

Mike Hamilton will be remembered fondly here in 20 years when Clemson is naming buildings after him and people look back and thank someone for the 450 million Tennessee raised (which dwarfed what Florida did during the Meyer NC runs).

It was not immoral for Bray to get that tattoo, it just is embarassingly bad looking.

As the guy who stuck us with the worst coach in UT football since Bill Battle?

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

If you think that a very large majority of the fanbase isn't going to go into "fire the coach" mode after a pitiful loss like this past Saturday, you are absolutely 100% delusional.

It wasn't the fact that we played so poorly - it was the blatant apathy (at least on the offensive side) and the seeming lack of effort and intensity across the board.

The lack of preparation for arguably the most important game of the season (sad as that is to say) falls COMPLETELY on the coaching staff.

In order to keep optimism alive in Knoxville, all CDD had to do was beat a pitiful KY team using a WR as a QB.

It's the responsibility of the HFC to win games, not give excuses. If we beat a pathetic UK team last Saturday, instead of talking "hot seat", everybody would be talking about how the season was salvaged and speculating on bowl game opponents.

Now Dooley is fighting for his coaching life. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear, but the truth hurts sometimes.

This. All of it. 100% right.

Dooley has not won any fans with his Saban like mouth. Saban is the best coach in all of college football and I do not think there is an argument. You can curse a lot and still succeed, but it is not helpful. It is also not helpful as a coach if you are fat. Mangino and Friedgen did worlds better than their replacements...

You can easily spot complete mouth breathing idiots and avoid ever speaking about football with them again.

CMBI is indicated by things like:

Blaming the defense for our loss to Kentucky....

Acting like the defense was the problem when without Janzen Jackson (the only NFL first round potential talent they had) and Herman Lathers, they played much better than last year.

Saying that losing the laziest assistant on our staff would be devastating to the program.

Defending Bray's tattoo (I haven't witnessed this but it would indicate total idiocy).

Talking about poor play calling on plays where the WR was wide open and dropped the ball.

Saying "I am tired of youth as an excuse" when all of our best players are sophomores and freshmen (segue to)

Defending Phil Fulmer whose senior class has a total of ZERO NFL players except for Dooley transfer Malik Jackson.

Wanting to hire Kevin freaking Sumlin who went 5-7 with a
MUCH easier schedule than ours last year when his QB was hurt.

Thinking Tennessee can know one way or the other whether Dooley will succeed at this point.

Thinking Tennessee has more of a reason to be upset about our results given our talent than Florida or Texas (take a long look at their junior and senior group and the number of NFL guys they have and ask yourself if there is any valid excuse for their record).

The hard times have also exposed fools who write in the papers that James Franklin (he of the Ole Miss instead of LSU SEC schedule) has more going for him than Dooley and will surpass him...

9 Juniors and Seniors on Vandy's defense and 2 sophomores. 6 Juniors and Seniors on offense.
Tennessee? 4 on offense and 3 on defense.

Tennessee football has a very bright future. EE Juco's will hopefully be able to contribute earlier than guys like Byron Moore, Mo Couch and Iz. Lanier (all of whom I am expecting big things out of for next year).

Dooley has a safe job and should be able to upgrade every single coach who leaves (provided that Wilcox stays).

Let's look on the bright side and enjoy a strong close in recruiting and some well coached basketball players who are giving a good effort even when playing more talented teams.

To really put things in perspective look at the eaxperince retur.ing to all the teams before the year started. You can figure it out by looking at letters earned.

Bama lsu Uga Arky and USC returned between 80 and 90 years worth of experince. Vols and UF between 50 and 60. I just added the years from each player. To expand it another level, the amount of experienced players with 2 or 3 letters earned.

USC 25 UGA 27 UT 13 UF 17 LSU 28 ARK 32 AUB 31 Bama 25
