I silently committed to the Vols today. You will see me playing in the Orange and White. Maybe......

So, if this is referring to Martin, does anyone know how many years he has to play. #10 overall JUCO is pretty solid! I'd take him!

Silent commitments hahaha those have always gone well for the Vols, you would think we would eventually learn our lesson. Just off the top of my head Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, Chris Simms, Gabe Wright, among many others were at one time or another "silent" commits. We could field an entire team of all americans who were once silent to UT haha.

Was Simms and actually silent or did he commit on TV? I don't remember so well these days

LSU plays in Nashville (his hometown) on Tuesday, too.

Two scenarios:
1. he selected this date because LSU is in town and he wants to give them his commitment then or
2. Butch told him to commit to Tennessee on this date because LSU is in town.

My gut is the first. Kyle Phillips has always wavered and so has Ugo Amadi.

I want them but I don't think it makes or breaks our class.

I do not believe 2--Butch wouldn't flaunt it in LSU's face--that's Kiffinesque and Butch doesn't operate that way.

I can understand why some some kids want to leave their home states but I certainly don't understand why a Tennessee kid would turn the Vols down. Great facilities , great fan support, and education.

jmo, but I don't Butch would view it this way. LSU is in our backyard marketing, so to speak, and this would merely be a response to that.

Interesting perspective. I hadn't thought of it that way--I still think it's abit too dramatic for Butch but that may be because I think Ugo is going to LSU anyway.
