Probably a Silent Hill thread buried somewhere here but I thought I'd start a new one for this occassion.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the North American release of Silent Hill on the PlayStation. I remember buying this when it came out and at the time I had never heard of it. I got it because I had heard if you liked Resident Evil you'd probably like SH.

I still think the first 3 games are classics. The ones after are a mixed bag but I generally like them still. I'm really bummed Silent Hills (PT demo on PS4) never worked out and I'm sad that it seems the franchise is dead for now. Seems like with all the success of the Resident Evil remakes and remasters that Konami would do a Silent Hill remake.

I still have the PT demo on my OG PS4 HDD :) I hope Konami burns in hell and they feel the negativity forever for getting rid of Kojima

Playing RE 2 remake and praising Capcom for the work of nostalgia art. But at the same time cursing Konami for their stupidity and ruining the chances of any Silent Hill remakes.

What's really sad is how hyped they had everyone over the Silent Hills demo and then they cancel it; yet Resident Evil listened to the fans and created RE7, which is similiar in style to what Silent Hills was going to be. That revived the RE series and now it's going strong with the RE2 remake.

Imagine if Konami didn't cancel Silent Hills, it became a huge hit and we'd likely be talking about or even playing an awesome Silent Hill remake.
