Silas Redd

Haha. If you pizza when you're supposed to French fry, you're gonna have a bad time

Maybe Joe Schad and Cowherd will get a cut of his signing bonus when he's drafted. Never seen such "unbiased" reporting.

The point is that Redd was contacted by dozens of schools across the country after the sanctions were announced, and the only thing ESPN reported was that USC contacted Redd. That's bias.

Yes and no...word allegedly leaked out early from his dad et al that it was either stay at PSU or go to a title contender. USC is thin at RB, whereas LSU, Bama, Oklahoma are likely set. It was unique situation; had this been any other year, transferring to USC would've been a mistake (circa 2006 with 7-8 5* RBs clogged in the depth chart).

Of course he was but who said he had interest? Good team with a hole at RB is a no brainer, no matter what team you like.

Would it have made you feel better if they listed the twenty other schools that called, that he had no interest in?

And the rich get richer...it won't matter...USC will still lose a game that they probably shouldn't, and will yet again come up short for the NC.

This makes USC IMO the NC favorite. They will be scary good and all will hail Kiffin at the end of the year.

I am not one of those who hate Kiffin. I think he is a very good coach. The complete wrong fit for UT and he took the wrong approach while here, but made it somewhat exciting. He has a great offensive mind and some of the best coaches around.

And he has that swagger to fly across the county and court a guy like Redd and get him.

You're prob right. I would be thrilled with a Pac-12 Championship (automatic Rose Bowl) or even losing to Oregon will yield a BCS at-large. When the sanctions were announced in June 2010, everyone said we wouldn't make it back to the BCS til 2017, at the earliest.

If we make it this year, I'll be very thankful and content.

USC will need to get it done this year... it will only be tougher once the scholarship reductions actually come into play.

I think they will lose two games, but we shall see.

With or w/out Redd, USC does not have a chance at the NC and ESPN know it.
Follow the money.

With MKiffin, they had the 54th D in FBS.
The OLiine has only 60 combined starts = 66th in FBS.
And with 75 players they are generally not deep.

Oklahoma at 13-0 (look at their schedule, and QB Landry is a Sr) plays the SEC Champ for the NC...AND EVERYONE AT ESPN KNOWS THIS!!!

LIARS.

You've used this '60 combined starts' stat too much now.

4 of 5 USC starters return on the OL for a team that only gave up 8 sacks while passing the ball a lot. Oh, and we had a 1000 yard rusher... And now we've added another.
