1. He won't be as good as Darron, this year at least.
2. We crushed the Huskies last year and Kiffin has it out for Sark.
3. I'm more worried about Notre Dame than any team on the schedule. If we go in undefeated, and are looking ahead to the PAc-12 title (Oregon) and hopes for Miami, it could set up to be the heartbreak of the century since they are the last game.
There's merits to your argument. But I see it going like this:
1. I think we win the first one; might lose the 2nd...we've gotten use to their line of attack and have adjusted the roster accordingly (e.g. we've turned S into LB to chase em down). Plus, they're a lot more fragile this year. Their heir apparent QB lost his job to a Fr and regardless what they say about "just plugging pieces in," you can't disregard the experience LaMichael and Darron brought to that O.
2. What makes us more competitive against Oregon ultimately hurts us against LSU. You're right in saying we'd be hurting to stop Power.
But the good news? I don't see LSU making it back to the title game. My buddy who's a LSU grad--and fervently hates SC--admits how many times has a QB never taken a snap for a team and they run the table and win it all? Plus, the law of averages says the SEC can't win it every year...I think this is the year they all knock one another out of it.
First year starters at QB have won the championship for 3 straight years. They can't possibly get any worse at QB. Also if LSU or UGA were to get to the NC game they would shut your offense down.
SN: Law of averages suggest that the USCe will win a championship before USCw again. Championships coming back to the SEC this year Hollywood. Don't be surprised if you see a sleeper team led by a QB Kiffin recruited. *chuckles*
Well, the middle guy in your example just happened to be a freak of nature, Heisman winner and No.1 NFL draft pick...not too many Cam Newtons walking around the planet. McElroy and McCarron are closer to the notion of a "game-manager" leading a team, but I still don't think that guarantees anything for LSU. You could cite Tebow, Young, Vick, Newton, etc at the other end of the spectrum just as easy.
Just my opinion, but I don't think it goes (7) in a row. (I don't think USC wins it either)...

Well who do you think wins it then? Best teams are in the SEC. If our SEC conference champ makes it then you can buckle up for the ride.
Redd has a chance to win a MNC at SC (even UGA) this season so if that's the most important to him then he may leave but I don't see many Jr or any Sr leaving....i think 20-25 commits/underclassmen will leave the program before next Jan. jmo
People have been saying this for the past 4 years...surely they cannot win 3 in a row...4...5...6..but the SEC keeps doing it. To be quite frank outside of the Auburn game in 10 none of the have been close.
2006 2 Florida 41 1 Ohio State 14
2007 2 LSU 38 1 Ohio State 24
2008 2 Florida 24 1 Oklahoma 14
2009 1 Alabama (SEC) Champs 37 2 Texas 21
2010 1 Auburn 22 2 Oregon 19
2011 2 Alabama 21 1 LSU 0
Until someone proves that they can beat the upper echelon of the SEC then it should assumed some team from the SEC will win the NC each year. Bottom line it doesn matter how potent your offense is (Oregon in 10, OK in 08) when you play a top SEC defense it will get shut down. I mean for heavens sake UT the year Oregon went to the NC game hung with them for a half and was leading by 10 if I recall correctly. Depth killed them that year and no one in their right mind would rank that UT defensive anywhere sniffing the top of the SEC.
