Sammy Watkins is number one. But alll five of the ones mentioned are awesome.

Watkins is good Woods would be #1 right now IMO and Hunter #2 if he truly is back to 100% but until he shows that, possibly Keenan Allen at #2.

God, I hope so. One would be fantastic. Two would be nothing short of amazing. I think Lane and Neal will be at least serviceable enough to take some pressure off our passing game. One or two extra, talented linebackers could make the difference in our season should AJ, Lathers, or Maggitt go down.

I agree. It's going to all go down very quickly too. I'd say within the next week for sure. Linebacker is a huge need and a couple of their guys are suited very well for a 3-4.

And who would those be?

All I have seen from USC is a potent offense with a pro ready QB. 375 yards per game last year against a conference which had 3 teams that more than one win than they did losses. The conference is top heavy, always has been. It's a conference that plays shoot 'em out games, always has from what I remember. There may be some good defensive players in the Pac 10, but by and large the defensive product as whole sucks out West.

I've heard this about PAC "D", so I thought I'd "do the math"

Last year Stanford and Cal were the best 2 defenses in the PAC. Those two ranked number 25 and 26 nationally(total defense). The third best team was USC, coming in at #54.

To put it in perspective, Tennessee ranked 28th nationally which would put them at 7th in the SEC.

1. USC coudn't run in 2011 either.
2. USC's Oline has only 60 starts = 66th in FBS.
3. UT's OLine has 106 starts = 3rd in FBS.
4. All of UT's OLine were rated top 10 recruits, incluidng #2 Juwan and #4 Richardson.
5. UT's passing attack is = to USC's if not deeper and better, which backs up the LBs and Safeties.
6. The guy picked PSU from a good list, he's not looking to go to a sissy conference.
7. Who you going to believe -- Dooley or Kiffin/Orgy?

This kind of argument always brings up the issue of statistics being misleading.

Do Pac-12 defenses look weak because the offenses are so good? Or do the offenses look good because the defense is so weak?

Do SEC defenses look good because the offenses are so weak? Or do the offenses look weak because the defense is so good?

I'll tell you one thing, offensive statistics favor the Pac-12, and I think it is pretty universally recognized that the Pac-12 as a whole has better QB play.

I'm not making a stand one way or another, just pointing stuff out.

7. You can go to USC and compete for a NC this year...
8. You can come to UT and loose 3-4 games and not play in a BCS bowl.

To me the fact is USC can and for all practicle purposes should play in the NC game...but then again under Carrol they had a nack for loosing to someone they shouldn't....will be the swaying factor. JMHO.

1.
USC had a 1000 yard rusher last year

2.
USC's Oline is young and talented - and allowed a strong run game last year

4.
I'd say it's pretty arguable. Barkley + Woods + Lee + Telfer + Grimble + Agholor is nasty. And the Oline only allowed 8 sacks last year.

 Da'Rick Rodgers had similar #'s...IN THE SEC. And he is a much bigger specimen. Watkins #'s go WAY down if he had chose not to play in a cupcake conference.WV demonstrated that with great emphasis.

Watkins is the real deal - Da'Rick also did not do that as a freshman like Watkins

if you could draft freshman he would have gone top 10

I don't know much about Woods. Other then he is a good player. I wouldn't trade what we have for the guys at USC. Give me JH and DR along with CP and Rivera any day

I'll take Dem Vols over that left coast team with a used car salesman Kiffin any damn day. Come to Knoxville and be a VFL.

Please name them? That has a lot to do with his talent level. Big difference playing against 1st round corners and safeties

USC might have a better chance to play in a BCS bowl, but if that's the criterion, why not go to Michigan or Oklahoma or Clemson?

USC playing in the SEC = the 8 sacks last year probably doubling or tripling...... Just Saying

Got me there. Blackmon isn't 6ft and 165 either though. Great college player but we have to see about NFL. Also he may not even play. Haven't heard the latest but I'm quite sure he is suspended for a while after another DUI

Answer this. With your Criteria, why weren't there any first round SEC WR's? Scouts are judging individual talent, not who they were guarded by. They had some corners drafted last year in there conference. But that is irrelevant when looking at how talented Sammy Watkins is.

I'm just saying no one has a basis to say Watkins is better then Da'Rick. Da'Rick would dominate Watkins any day because of Physicality. Bigger,Stronger and probably more athletic overall considering he weighs 50 lbs more
