It is very unlikely that the US Army Psychological Operations (PSYOP) had any cooks or mechanics.

Not true, they are in the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Company (HHSC). I commanded an HHSC in a Military Intelligence Battalion that had the same MTOE as the ones in the POG.

That said, you are technically correct in that the 4th POG was converted into the 4th Military Information Support Group in 2010 which I forgot.

Being reported now that he was in some metal bands emphasizing white power and hate against racial minorities.

I know it makes for "good" headlines, but what the hell difference does it make that he was at one time in a band?

Can we just go ahead and say he's linked to or influenced by the Tea Party and Chick-fil-A and move on?

Still haven't found any confirmation about what his actual MOS was in the military, but it appears he was heavily involved in the white supremacist movement and music scene for a while now. Although we know that there are a variety of groups, who get young members, or potential members, to enlist in the service to gain knowledge and training, I think his ties to hate groups may be more relevant than his military service.

Nice way to minimize by conflating "linked to" with "influenced by."

The tea party I doubt is going to have a record. And even if they do they'll keep it to themselves.

If we see some lyrics or writings by he or his band, we might be able to determine if he held views consistent with the extremes in the TP. That said, it would I think take a lot to say he is "linked," not as much to say "influenced by."

I really don't know what you are talking about here but even suggesting he's influenced by is a major stretch without zero proof.

Just like Loughner who it turns out was not linked to or influenced by the TP but still the talking heads went right ahead and made the connection.

I don't remember the anti-Sikh part of the TP platform but I'm sure you'll ferret it out through code words and vague references all while judging your opponents by their looks and mannerisms.

I'll bet if I see lyrics of his band I can link them to views held by the extreme of ANY group you choose.

If he was black and was in a rap band, and had killed 6 southern Baptists, and sang about how great ACORN is, you, and 90 percent of this board, would say that he is representative of the entire left. Hannity would imply that he knew Obama, personally.

He was a white supremacist.

Some in the TP are racist, too.

He therefore SHARES the views of some in the TP.
