"The weekend was great," Williams said. "The biggest thing I got out of this weekend was getting to know the other signees. That's what the other players told us as well. It's important to stick together and I think we have a strong bond already." Jordan Williams

"It was good," DeAnthony Arnett said of his trip. "I really enjoyed seeing everyone again. I got to see some of the new recruits. I got to talk to coach Chaney about things. It was a great time.He wants me to learn the plays, learn the offense and learn the terminology," Arnett said of what he got from his talk with Chaney. "He wants me to learn the F and Z positions. He wants me to be ready to play right away and that is my goal."

"It was very exciting," Johnson said. "I never knew it was going to be like this. I just came to play football and it makes you feel good. The main thing is to just stay humble.I had a great time over the weekend," Johnson said. "I just went down there and talked with the coaches and watched the game. They told me that I looked good. They asked me if I had been going by the book and working out. I thought I was going to be out for Mike, but they think I'm better at Will or Sam linebacker." AJ Johnson

Sounds like we have some good kids coming in. I did find it interesting that AJ wont be the mike, I thought the kid was tailor made for that position. All these quotes are from the Austin Price volquest article a few days ag.

So Johnson will start out at OLB? Is this more about need or is he really a better fit here?

If they're planning on starting him from day 1 then the outside would be an easier transition as far as knowledge of our defense goes. Maybe that's the reason for the move...

saw Arnett multiple times....he was about 5'9 maybe 5'10 and couldnt weigh more than 160lbs...i know he is highly rated but he will have to have blazing speed at that size to be a factor....maybe throw him in the slot and catch a slant pattern but man oh man that is the smallest highly rated recruit i have ever seen

Rocket was the fastest player I have ever seen in Neyland, period. And are you trying to make me feel old? :)

here is hoping that Arnett is at least the 2nd fastest player you have seen in Neyland because he has got to be one of the smallest

Yes, I'm thinking the same. If coach wants to work Johnson into playing time ASAP, then starting him outside makes sense. Doesn't mean that he'll never play Mike. I'd be surprised if he weren't coached into that along the way. We need three guys good to go at Mike.
