With the move of Hinshaw from qb coach to wr coach does anyone have any idea of who will be in charge of signaling plays in from the sideline? Will CJC start calling plays from the sideline instead of being in the box? I just remember CDH always being with Bray(or other qb) on the sideline while the D was on the field. If CJC stays in the box who would be in charge of communicating with and coaching Bray while on the sideline as well as signaling plays into Bray in the huddle? Would that responsibility go to a GA possibly?

I don't know and at this point in the "season" I don't care. In fact, I probably don't care in the 4th quarter of a big game. I simply trust that it is being done and is in good hands to do so.

It's January 24, 2012. I'm sure by the time game preparations begin in late Aug they'll find someone to signal in plays.

If not, maybe they can call Papke from Necessary Roughness. I'm sure he's not doing too much these days.

There needs to be three. Cutcliff use to have 2 to 3 signals callers. Right before they went onto the field he would make one of the three what he called "hot". Good system. It's not hard to figure out the signals if you have one signal caller.

No offense, but how would anyone on VN know the answer to this question?

I agree. The backup qb's need to signal calls so they know the plays when or if they are in the game. A GA can stand in for the qb coach who is the OC now and two backup qb's. They rotate "hot" calls throughout the game, changing each quarter or half unless you feel the defense is reading your signals.

It requires teamwork. A good signal waver is lost without a dedicated clip-board carrier. Jim Bob Cooter was dedicated to his clip-board and set the standard of excellence for all to follow. I hope CDD can find a 5-star clip-board guy before NSD.

Hinshaw will get call from Chaney and communicate it to the offense. things won't change as far as that is concerned.

I like this system. It's much more...mysterious. :detective:

It is actually posted on UT Sports website that they are adding a sign language specialist from the Communications program.

I give the the QB's props for being able to understand all that. Everytime I watch a game their hands are just going a hundred miles an hour and the players just nod. I'd be freaking out.

GREAT! If you read the other threads you'll learn that Bray isn't that great of a student both in the classroom and on the field. How in the hell can we expect him to learn sign language? Unless everyplay is signalled in with the "Let's roll a fatty" sign...
