Sign on to the Nick Stephens bandwagon.

I'm praying for a standing "O" when the offense hits the field and another one after the game

I understand that, but it's still not the same thing as going through a real game. Crompton had to be pulled, I'm not denying that, but I'm sick of these people calling him stupid and incompetent in everything he does. He's actually a very good speaker and blogger. He's also very confident in himself. If he was being successful on the field, everyone would be loving his confidence. How could anyone actually be mad at someone for having confidence?

So Crompton didn't work out in a game. Maybe he'll never be the qb he was supposed to be, but I just think the fans need to lay off him as a person, just as they need to lay off Fulmer and his eating habits or any other personal traits.

That will never happen. :shakehead:

Nick doesn't have to play great, just adequate. UT could have been 3-1, possibly 4-0 with an average QB. Just find someone who can take a snap and hand off. PLEASE...

Fox news just said UT was gonna start a new QB. It didn't say Nick, but that's a given.

he's still not going to be great. I think he'll be better than what Crompton has been but I don't think there will be a needed drastic change

To be honest, I'm hoping this demotion lights a fire under Crompton's butt, and he gets it all together somewhere down the line. He has too much potential, and to end his career as an utter failure would be a huge disappointment.

I'm not saying that he should start next week, obviously. I do hope that he has a turnaround like Ainge did after his sophomore year at some point, for everyone's sake.

bandwagon threads suck - a lot.

I'm not starting anymore. :)

I think I'll at least wait and see if Stephens can take the snap, hand the ball off on running plays, and avoid getting sacked by Foster on pass plays before I get too excited.
