she doesn't really have to worry about that. Overseas pays way better than the WNBA. Russia was going to offer Candace Parker $1 million dollar to go and play for them.

Very true. Do you think Parker will leave after next year? That would be carzy to be the first woman to leave early.

Candace's endorsement contract will dwarf her salary; she could very well become the face of women's athletics. She is photogenic, an excellent interview, and she can dunk. Some shoe company will see in her the next Mia Hamm.

Candace does have a very pretty face and a great smile. She's a better looking version of Lisa Leslie. I guess we'll be seeing her on commercials (Gatorade perhaps?) in the next few years.

Parker will be the first WNBA player who does not have to play overseas.

I guess NIKE might create a new brand of shoes: CANDY

But isn't their season only like 3 or 4 months. That makes the salary look a lot better. I'd take 30 or 40 in the first 3 or 4 months after I left college for sure.

Well, that's about what you'd expect in a league that averages only about 7500 fans per game (down 15% in one year) and presumably has almost zero TV money. There's just not that much money to go around.

And this is with ESPN sort of pushing women's basketball, too. Imagine if they were to quit broadcasting it and it were to fall off their radar completely, as the NHL did.

Is this one of the few advantages of being at a communist country? Oh, wait, the communist one already collapsed.
