who's pissed? Was psychology another of the bricks in the foundation of your nearly unfathomable level of education?

Agreed. We are merely making a point that you having a degree does not make you any more a fan, then a man who gets his pilots license license makes him any better of an air show spectator.

You are mistaken about the enrollments and about the major distinctions in academic quality offered by these state institutions and about the disparity in the quality of education offered by them.

UAB, BTW, has an enrollment of about 17k by itself.

I didn't say anything about the quality of the academics offered.

If I'm not mistaken when I was at Alabama, UAB was larger then. Alabama and Auburn used to be something like the difference between Miss St and Ole Miss. I know when I was there, Eastern KY University was larger the Alabama in enrollment by a couple hundred.

UK did at one time include the CC enrollment. They used to boast almost 40,000 enrolled which made them half again larger than Tennessee.

you didn't qualify your silliness with multiple degrees, but denigrating even more them is worse.

That said, doubling down must make you the best Vol fan you know. You and band boy are impressive, to say the least.

They're the kind of guys that are handy for snipe hunting. :)

Not bragging. If I were bragging I wouldve told you which degrees. Thanks for taking the bait.

Probably because they can't believe that you have your head so far up your arse to count out others because they didn't go to a school. You have no idea what other people's stories are and why they didn't attend UT.

So to you actually attending a school and graduating has no bearing on whether you should be a fan or not of that school? And my head is up my arse? So to you it would be completely normal to see all the students and graduates of UT wearing Alabama hats?

Probably. You should check.

I do not know what was true when you were in school, or when that was. None of the information you provided to start this discussion (post #311) is accurate now. Bama, MTSU, and Auburn are essentially the same size, on par with UK and UT. Vandy is not anywhere in their neighborhood.

My mistake about the academics. I confused Knoxvillain's post with yours.

I agree that it doesn't make them better spectators as far as enjoying the show, but in a case like that another pilot would have a greater appreciation for what the pilot in the aircraft is doing.

Pilots are a strange breed. I couldn't count on one hand the number of pilots that would admit to anyone that another pilot is a better stick than they are. As a CE it was always pure joy to fly with experienced pilots that knew just how far they could push the aircraft that they were flying. Funniest thing you can do besides sex is NOE (especially over hilly terrain) at 140 knts. Pure adrenaline rush.

or NOE under NVS at almost any speed. World moves quickly in the dark and on the deck.

Yes sir. When we first got to Kuwait we were doing our night dust quals and in that hot dry air over there, all the static build up at the tip caps makes for helluva light show under goggles. Flying is the one true thing I miss since I retired.

My best friend(died way too early a few years ago) who happened to be UT grad,an attorney, entrepreneur, rich, flew jets,C-130's,etc.,ski buddy, once said he and three other pilots were flying overseas to set up a base. They rotated flying. He said he was resting once after he flew and woke up and all the pilots were sleeping. Thought that was funny so I shared it.

Reading your posts (written after obtaining two degrees from UT) makes me sad. Other than the BOT giving Al Gore an honorary Phd, I had not realized that the value of my UT degree had depreciated so much.

I vote that you give them back.

We get upset because we like UT fans to have a good reputation by other teams' fans. When we see UT fans make staements such as what you make in this thread, it unfortunately gives all UT fans a bad name.

I wore my TN hat proudly while I attended a school other than UT. Normal - maybe not. I'm happy with not falling into peer pressure. On the other hand; does it make me less of a Vol fan than one who falls into the peer pressure of becoming a Vol fan because they attend UT? I think not.

Congratulations on rooting for a school you never attended. Bravo
