Sidewalk alumni necks

Totally serious. Pay'd is the past particle form of pay.

Then say would be say'd? I didn't graduate from UT but I know the past tense of pay is paid & say is said. Btw I'm a huge UT fan.

Well I know I am considered a "dirt-road alumni" because I haven't attended UT. Perhaps a sidewalk alumni neck is cross between an AL redneck and someone who just stands on the sidewalk wishing they could attend.

Well I didn't even know what it was until I asked the question what in the hell it ment... So I'm one too and I embrace it with pride regardless what some smart a**es think. Unless ur a bammer ur a neck lol

Until Berry graduates...Yes I am

Correcting my grammar incorrectly shows me two things: (1) you had no other argument and (2) you struggle with correcting grammar.

HIERARCHY OF FANDOM:

1.) Alumni who both played and coach(ed) at their alma mater;
2.) Alumni who played at their alma mater;
3.) Alumni who work(ed) for the athletic department of their alma mater;
4.) All other alumni; and
5.) Everyone else who wants to be a fan.

So if you are a UT fan throughout your life and high school, and you get a scholarship to go to another school that cost two.three times as much to attend, you should turn it down just so you can say I'm a UT fan because I graduated there? Nonsense. End of discussion.

That's a decision each person has to make. If a person forgoes a scholarship to pursue their favorite school then yes, they are a bigger fan. A much bigger fan.

Why limit it to the athletic department? What about third generation UT alumnus with a parent that was a professor at UT for 35 years?

I'm a fan, and I've only been to Knoxville to go to a football game or to attend a Clash concert (I know, I'm giving my relative age away). :shaking2:

Is there a non-alum board so I can interact with those like myself, who simply don't understand waiting in line and decorating floats?

I guess I'll have to join you since I'm a non-UT degree holder and have never decorated a float before. Although I may be disqualified because of the waiting in line requirement (but we use to call it hurry and wait, so maybe I do qualify).

This may be the most ridiculous post I have ever read, anywhere. The only other ones in contention are the ones you've posted in this thread.

Neyland would be in category 5. Do you not find that just a tad stupid?

I'm going to take wild guess that you must have been the float decorating director.

Actually I was a member of the Pride of the Southland band. I spent from 7:50am - 8:40am then 1:15pm - 3:05pm every Tuesday and Thursday plus 8:00am-9:00am on game Saturdays practicing for a 10 minute performance on the field. This doesnt take into account the time before being at the band room, parade to the stadium, then staying til the stadium was virtually empty playing music for those leaving.

All for 1 hour credit. And no scholarship.

What did you do to show your school spirit. What orange blood did you shed for your team?

I'll take a wild guess - you have an associates degree

And your point is?

I work with someone right now that was in the band, quit and could care less about football.

You had the privilege of being in the band, got into the game for free, and you consider that "shedding orange blood?"

its called sourgrapes.com

how is calling an absurd striation of the fanbase idiotic even remotely sour grapes? I appreciate all of your blood, sweat and tears shed in building the program so the rest of we peons could find someone to root for.

I've subjected my body and liver specifically to harm without fail every Saturday making sure I'm at my loudest and drunkest to help the team out in the game. Where do I rank?

Thanks for proving the point

See what you dont know is that while in the band we had our activities card punched just like all students that get tickets do.

Yeah, I'd say spending 8-12 hours a week only to get 1 hour credit and having the same hole punched on my activity card is shedding a boat load of orange blood.

and I'd say having done so voluntarily means it wasn't the hardship you're absurdly making it out to be.

All of this bs and dissension evolves from a conversation about fandom between a bammer and a tiger, war eagle, plainsman?

not really. It's from some clown pretending, as a grad, that he's more of a fan than those who haven't graduated from UT.

just like those that chose to go to the game, get drunk and yell at the game, or play football. Its all voluntary.

I chose to do it because that's the pride I have the the orange.

the difference is: they aren't on here *****ing about how many credit hours they got for it. Most are on here itching to do it again. You're acting as if you were going to get the vise / nuts treatment if you didn't don your flute and march.
