Pretty fun so far...played for about 30 minutes this morning. Looks like they've made some good changes. I like the fog of war style of this one more than the previous ones.

Game looks cool but what is it about? Like a sim city type game? My research abilities are limited thanks to being at work.

Conquer the world type game. You get certain characters like Gandhi, Cleopatra, Theodore Roosevelt, etc to work with. Each dynasty has unique benefits to give you some variety in your quest to take over the world. You fight barbarians at the start usually then you go to war against the other in-game dynasties, obtain resources, trade, explore land, etc. Previous versions of the game have different characters and dynasties, but the game has maintained the same concept since the start-pick a dynasty and rule the world with that dynasty, starting at the beginning of known civilization- thus comes the name of the game, Civilization. The original Civ game was a board game in the early 80s, similar to Risk.

It's an incredibly addictive franchise. If you are into geography/maps, historical civilizations, and turn based strategy games, then this is the game for you.

I think the last time I played this game was Civ2. I think it is time to try it again. I watched a few streams and it looks great.
