Colts1; Manning >Saints3.
Manning is the greatest UT player of all time and does more for our University then any other of our former players combined. You don't see Meachem donating money or his time to the University or the players.

I'm not disputing that. I'm just saying there's other Vols besides him, and I don't have to cheer for the Colts over every team in the NFL because of Peyton.

The only reason that I even care about the Superbowl this year is because of Peyton Manning, Robert Meachem, and Greer. That being said, I'm rooting for Peyton and the Colts to win.

it's all good for Vol fans.
We are seeing the past AND the future of our football program. We have our greatest QB on one team in Manning, then on the Saints we see Drew Brees - who was groomed by our current OC. Hoping in years to come we see more Vol QB's excel in the pros just like these two. Whether next year is Nick or Tyler or Matt or Nash - whoever leads us will need all our support

I have been a Titans season ticket holder since they moved to Nashville, but I have no ill feelings towards the Colts at all when they are not playing the Titans. I take a lot of pride in knowing that the best QB to ever play is a Tennessee Vol. I can't control that the Colts have owned my Titans and that we have never addressed the QB issue in Nashville.

I was hurting for Peyton when he threw that pick...

Well, I was right about Peyton throwing a pick 6 to the Saints to have them win the game.

Turns out, it was just the wrong guy doing it, lol.

you shouldn't worry too much what other people think....it's none of their business who you cheer for....as long as you are all Vol, of course :)

I was for Peyton Manning and not the Colts necessarily, but he lost big time as far as legacy points go. I am not unhappy that the Saints won. I congratulate the Vols on that team too. I just wish the freaking Titans could win one of those.

I hate the Colts. I'm a Tennessean, I cheer for the Titans. One guy isn't enough of a reason to cheer for the freaking INDIANAPOLIS colts. Some homers need to get off Manning's jock and support the state's team.

the Oilers are not, and will never be, the state's team. Maybe middle TN's team and a few stragglers. NFL allegiance is pretty much random, deal with it

Well, being a Saints fan trumps rooting for former Vols...

But, if you took that out of the equation... then you'd have a vested interest in rooting for the former Vol that brings the most notoriety to the university as well as donates the largest amounts of money to upgrade facilities...

Those two things - notoriety and upgraded facilities - help tremendously in recruiting...

Again - your prior allegiance to the Saints aside, you'd wish Meachem, Greer, and Mitchell well...

but, who, of those 3, and Manning, has done the most for the University of Tennessee?

a no brainer...

Why did the Colts let Chavis take over the defensive coordinator duties in the second half? Soft coverage = a loss and that's what happened.

Still like Peyton, but I am happy for the Vols on the Saints team. Really either way it was a win for Tennessee!

I like Peyton, but I was for the Saints and I agree its stupid that people would judge you on whether not your a true Vol based on who you rooted for....:crazy:
