well i know that it isn't true,I know a Bama grad that pulls for the Vols,he is pushing 80 and will tell you he study under a oil lamp,so he could get into Bama,but I do think the Bama game year in and out is the best game in college football,it doesn't matter what the record is.it is a killer game

Mad respect for the guy. Im currently studying at Bama myself, though it involved no oil lamps. :p Hope he lives on for a long time, the world needs those hard workers. I love the Bama-UT game as well. I'm from Tennessee, so naturally most of my friends are Vol fans and so it means the most of any game for me. 90% are great guys, but there are a few (and they are usually the bandwagon or fans who know nothing about football) that tend to give the Vols a bad name, but I know better than that. And I know the same goes for Bama, its just annoying to see many fans lump Bama (or any fanbase) into one giant category of trash-talking trolls.

VOLS INC., if I am your version of a troll, I apologize, but I have seen much more volatile things posted on boards before and such stuff has not even been labeled a troll. I was hoping to enjoy a Tennessee board, but looks like Ill get run off before I get the chance.

It wasn't so much as giving up as never really starting. I was merely defending my team, something I would expect from my Orange brethren to do on a Bama board if a similar topic were brought to the forefront.

Hijacking threads? I kept this one on a very similar topic to what the original poster intended. I am not only a fan of Bama football, but College Football, and that entails following other teams as well as my own. This would lead for me to be members of other teams boards, and I was recently directed to this one from my best friend (Vol fan), and decided to give it a try. Guess I'm not as welcome as I expected.

Yea I'll go to the bama board to read what you guys are saying but never wanted to join. Can understand why you joined volnation and i can understand why vols fans join your board but my life has been full of bad experiences with Bama fans. SEE my first post and this:

I apologize for bad experiences, but it's never good to generalize. Large portion of me joining tonight has to do with putting off a test I should be studying for. I would be studying, but I sold my textbooks for the class (har har right?). Figure I'd throw it in before someone else did. :p

My dad once likened Tennessee-Alabama to Batman-Joker. Neither would exist in their present form without the other. Kind of deep, huh?

I'm from a mixed marriage, daddy was a Bama fan (although he played football at Colorado, but his daddy played football at Bama with (not for) the Bear), and mom was a UT fan. We painted our front door either orange or red, depending on who won the game each year. After losing 11 straight years, UT finally won and the youth from our church spray painted our whole yard orange. All the grass died but it was so cool!

Guess what I'm saying is, Tennessee-Bama is a bloodbath, a big rivalry, but most of all it's lots of fun.

You do understand that with Lane kiffin and this coaching staff and the way we are recruiting. that it's just a matter of time before we take over the SEC right? I mean top 5 recruiting class with a 5-5 record. What do you think is going to happen when we win the SEC next year? Monte Kiffins Defense when he gets his players. Coach O reeling these recruits in the way he did for USC. SCARY. Enjoy it while you can because soon not even sabans personal savior mike slive will be able to help you.

the Mocs by 20 then ? :) I'm glad you have joined the Volnation board my self,just saying Welcome and i do want to know if it is true that Bama was called the Red Elephants ? i seen that in a post somewhere on here and haven't seen my friends dad to ask him,oh and he all ways pulls for Bama when the SEC championship game is on the line or BCS standings are involved ,other than that he is a Vol fan LOL, hmmm are you the same way ?

Not sure how it took this turn, but I guess I'll partake in this discussion. There is talent there already. The depth isn't there, but Kiffin is working with talent right now. No doubt it will improve though. I look to see a vastly improved Vol team in the coming years.

Lest we forget that Bama has back to back #1 ranked recruiting classes the past two years, while we are currently sitting at #2 with a shot at yet another #1 ranked class. With LSU and Florida also consistently posting top 5 recruiting classes, and teams like Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia and others consistently recruiting inside the top 15, no one is gonna "take over the SEC". The SEC will remain competitive and it will be a fight every year for the championship. I hope Kiffin brings the Vols back into Vol form. I want the Third Saturday in October to have national title implications, and I have faith that it will in the near future.

Not sure about the Slive comment. But I guess there must be something I'm missing.

Bama to win in 8 overtimes by a 56 yard field goal will work for me. :p

As for the Red Elephants story, I don't know if the team was ever widely known as the Red Elephants, but here are a few stories on it.

He's the SEC commissioner and the guy you need to thank for giving you the LSU game. As that was a clear interception. It is widely known that Slive wants a SECCG that includes Bama and Florida being Undefeated so ONE team will go to the National Championship because of money and that New TV contract the SEC just got.. Bama and Florida have been receiving favorable calls all year as the crooked commissioner is using his refs as goons. Remember when the Florida player clearly lost that ball against Miss St. same thing as when the LSU player intercepted that ball. Everyone with a brain saw the replay and knew that those calls should have went against FL/BAMA yet the refs said otherwise. Not just a volnation theory. PTI, AROUND the Horn and other television shows have discussed this. THAT'S WHAT YOUR MISSING. OPEN YOUR EYES. TAKE THOSE CRIMSON COLORED GLASSES OFF.

Honestly, if they are talking smack it shows that we have their interest and we're getting under their skin! They are very concerned with what we are doing up here with Kiffin & Co. rebuilding the program + they're still bitter towards us cause of Fulmer! We should actually feel flattered they pay us sooooo much attention! THANKS BAMA! haha

LSU AVG 5.1 pen a game for 42 yds: vs bama 8-43
BAMA AVG 6.5 pen a game for 59 yds: vs LSU 4-20

ARK AVG 6.5 pen a game for 55 yds: vs FLA 10-92
FLA AVG 6.5 pen a game for 51 yds: vs ARK 3-16

Penalties don't always cost a team a game but this does seem just a little bit fishy to me.
