I cancelled my subscrption over 15 years ago because of JA. His writing style is intentionally that of a person most folks used to call a jackass, and it is apparently consistent over the last decade and a half. Amazing that the senior sports writer for the only major print media in a Div1 sports town like Knoxville succeeds by consistently coming across as a jackass.

Don't like it? Enough folks have to call the Knoxville News Sentinel and cancel their home delivery, and those with businesses have to cancel their advertising, AND TELL THEM WHY.

After JackAss is gone, we can all resubscribe.

Before Adams there was Al Browning, news sentinel sports editor who covered the Vols with the same sarcastic, belittling type stories. The only difference being Browning was an Alabama grad. Near the time before his return to Alabama you could see many cars sporting bumper stickers that read "Will Rogers Never Met Al Browning." Adams stepped in and just penned his name to the same Browning tripe.

I quit it a few years ago as well, Adams and a lot of the comments started becoming ridiculous. He is an LSU homer and just wants to stir up as much negativity about UT as he can. His editor it appears loves it. I can't remember the last article I read with his name attached.

Yes, Adams is sarcastic but a lot of times he's correct. Hanging 1993 and 2003 banners is nothing more that wall filler. Do you think UF hangs a 2001 SEC East banner? No, because even though they had the same record as UT, UT beat them head to head. Do Texas and Vince Young celebrate the 2005 Heisman? No.

As I said yesterday in this thread, this isn't just happening at UT. It's going on at most schools. aTm created a couple of national titles recently.

I have to agree with ya that people have different tastes reguarding entertainment. I havent watched anything on abc, nbc, or cbs that wasn't sports in decades. Alot of people like "your momma" jokes but dont care for em when it's there mother thats being talked about. Thats kinda how I look at JA. He downgrades, ridicules, makes fun of, ect... something I dearly love.

----Haven't read the article, but THIS is what Adams is complaining about? That CBJ does this kind of stuff to sell the program? Good lord, if THAT'S what Adams is *****ing about, then he doesn't have one single clue about how successful people get things done out in the real world. Which he obviously doesn't.

It was hanging banners for SEC East titles in 1993 and 2003. That was his beef. If you're going to fill wall space fill it with those things not fake titles.

No doubt you're speaking of another JA than the one the rest of us have been tolerating for over two decades. Adams would eat his grand kids for the chance to move back to Baton Rouge and cover his beloved tigers, but they'd never take him in. His MO is to initiate troll-baiting controversies, making statements that encourage trolls to rail against the Vols. I stopped responding to his garbage when his good friend, Jeff Flowers, along with his proxies and a couple of other sociopaths, virtually took over the GVX's conversations. KNX Sports is committing slow suicide by keeping this lowest form of a journalist. Merely supporting the guy is a form of trolling.

I admit his columns aren't very good these days. ALL newspapers are dying a slow death. His writings seem to be solely for the purpose of getting the fan base riled up. Whether you have 100 followers that love you or a 100 followers that hate you....you have 100 followers.

This, he's there to sell ads and papers. It's his act. I just don't read and the best thing to do may be to contact the sponsors of the paper and tell them you will not support their business while JA is writing his garbage

None of my relatives subscribe to the News-Sentinel any more and Adams is the main reason. What a joke he is.

And, no, I didn't even click the link to see what is the latest crap he wrote. Why would I need to do that?
