SIAP- Tailgating at the Georgia Dome?

Anyone have any recommended lots for tailgating on Friday? Of particular interest- a place where I'm not going to have to hide my beer every time an officer of the law walks by?

I've never had anyone hassle me tailgating at any of the Dome lots. Only problem is access. Be prepared to sit around for at least an hour after the game is over. Probably longer.

I would just stay away from the "private" lots in the neighborhoods across the street from the dome

There is an area known as 'the gulch'. It is a huge open parking lot that you have to drive down from the main road to get to, and it is the most popular tailgating spot for anything in the Ga Dome or Phillips Arena.

Have done lots of parking garage tailgating at the Dome over the years.

You can tailgate in all the dome lots---try the blue lot and orange lots--great for tailgating. Also, inside the CNN center (1 block away) they have great deals on 32 oz. beers, lots of food choices, etc.
