SIAP.....BJ Coleman to UTC??

Great. He'll throw for 300 yards and a few touchdowns against the Citadel and 5150 and Ksush will on here barking about how stupid Kiffin is for letting the next Montana get away.

yo don't down the citadel, they scored more points in their game against florida than UT and SC scored against UF combined.

I don't understand where this thread comes from. Kiffin was interviewed on Sportstalk in Chattanooga and stated that BJ was a "gamer." He elaborated by saying that "gamers" play better in game situations and win games for the coach. Another source close to BJ, stated that BJ's exit interview with Kiffin went very well.

My source is now changing his story.

I dont know about this one. We all know Crompton could practice just not perform in Game situation. As far as Coleman we didnt know everything he could or couldn't do.
He was just 1 play from being the starter. Now no matter what we will be stuck with Crompton.
Stephens seems to be too much of a hot head. I liked it when he got Briscoe's Butt for laughing last year, but he come back in still mad and screwed up.
Coleman's Dad was on Sport talk yesturday and said they were going to take a couple weeks and decide what to do.

I'm gonna be honest guys. This one really hurts. This isn't like losing Creer, or Morley, or Abrams-Ward. This kid was a Vol to the bone. I'm not sure Kiffin has done the right thing with this kid. But I'm very interested to see how Kiffin takes this because I have a feeling that he will take some heat over this from fans, boosters, and in his own locker room. If Crompton and Stephens win 7-9 games this year, everyone will forget the name BJ Coleman. If the Vols win 6 or less, it might get a little ugly...

So was Joey Matthews and we all know how that worked out. I don't get the infatuation with BJ. He never did anything that screamed top flight SEC QB and top flight SEC QB is what Kiffin is going after. This is a new era, time to leave the old mediocre as good behind. BJ could have been a nice story, but realistically he would probably end up the same as Joey.

My thing is his. CLK and CDR need to man up and make an onest assessment of the QB situation. We as fans just speculate on the QB's. They know and see these guys everyday, and are pretty good at grading talent. We all don't think the answer is JC, and everyoe would rather have Stephens or BJ. All I want is the best out there. But, how much did BJ get with the 1st team as far as reps? Maybe he didn't get a fair shake.

Very odd opening sentence.

BJ's dad said Duke wants him, but BJ doesnt want to sit out a year. I think he would be better at a 1AA school myself.

You know what REALLY amazes me though Sab?? He hasn't accomplished anything on the field, yet he thinks that he is being wronged by some strange conspiracy against him (if this is all true of course). Here's a thought, if he consistently outplays Crompton and doesn't whine or complain about things then he would be the starter. We also haven't seen a truly healthy Nick Stephens either and Stephens showed the most promise out of any QB last year, IMO.

Yeah - but to be fair I think a lot would agree that even if his reps were against the 2nd team defense (he's also playing with the crappier offense) - that his play had atleast warranted him some of Crompton's snaps with the 1st team when he started to come on stronger at the end. JMO - even if he only got 1/4th of the first team snaps.

I don't believe Duke really wants nor needs BJ. He'll probably play before the 427 diehard UTC fans. If he thought UT was bad then he surely doesn't want to play for the Mocs, unless of course he's homesick.

How is there no room when there are only 2 scholarship QB's?

not sure what the "no room" meant. Could mean a lot of different things.. that is all I was told, said Duke didn't have room. Could be jsut doesn't want him to sitting on 85 number.. don't know

Very well could. Thanks, Larry.

I wonder if Cut had told him before he quit.

Seems he would have been smart enough to ask Cut before quitting, if that was his plan.

It's a question more about how just impulsive this decision was.
