Shy Tuttle injury

Jason scared me in those horror flicks from years ago. If he played like that guy, it would be awesome

Thanks LWS for your clarification of all this. It's almost verbatim how I heard the story.

IF a player on the team took out my best defensive player... he DAMN SURE would be gone for a while. Dont believe Warrior did it and has gone without consequences. If that is the way Butch runs his show... I I wouldn't want to play for him either.

Because he has difficulty with truthful statements at times.

Because it is really no one's business.

When the media asks about players injuries, all coaches need to just say 'none of your business' because it really isn't anyone's business.

Certain information is protected by HIPAA privacy laws - the NCAA needs to just pass a rule that will prevent these questions from being asked - leaving the question to a simple ... yes/no as to whether a player will be available to play or not.

Without knowing the details of how it started/ended you're reaching and who's to say NW isn't currently the best player on defense..

Certain information about the injury itself is protected by HIPAA. The question Hyams and Adams posed was, "Was the injury to Tuttle caused by an altercation with another player?" That information is not restricted by HIPAA. Had Butch not wanted to answer, he simply should have said, "We don't comment on what happens in practice."

Then why did Jones say he landed on a helmet?

Because he is a total goofball.

Players on the football teams get in fights - it happens. But Jones always wants to control the message to the nth degree. He tries way to prevent negative messages or inferences but he just can't stop himself.

A normal coach would have given a no comment or said as Butch started to say that it is an emotional game and sometimes tempers flare and that the matter is a team issue and will be handled internally.

So he had an out and went with lie?

Bright.

Talk about emotional drivel - this feels like a discussion with a 5 year old. First, You made an open ended statement (Nothing to love here, just bad stuff...) that led me to believe you are clueless about how much fighting actually goes on between teammates throughout the year. Particularly after a tough loss like UF. Second, I never said it was good so not sure why you want me to answer that question? Of course it is not good that Tuttle missed the game, but I have no problem with the team having a fire and intensity.

Since you seem to be quite offended by me pointing that out to you, let me apologize so you can go on with your life and stop the emotional drivel, Buddy. :cray:
Hey man let's squash this. I understand the point you were making. No need to squabble. Let's be friends.

Larry, I would wonder if Tuttle's family is involved in any way. If a kid fractured my kid's eye socket with a helmet(alleged), I would be heavily involved, especially considering he had already missed a year of football because of a cheap shot from another player. This isn't just a school yard scuffle. This is felony assault. An injury like that can affect everything from vision to brain function. I have to believe there is more than "boys will be boys" going on behind the scenes. I hope I'm wrong and the damage is minor. Thoughts?

there was no helmet involved. Tuttle started with a verbal altercation. I don't know who started the physical part but both were physical, it was a fight after a verbal spat. NW got the better of the fight. It didn't happen on the practice field.. off the field.

Shy is a 21 year old adult. He might get advice from family but they can't do anything, just Shy.

These fights happen a lot when two team mates get into disagreements. I've never heard of one being a legal thing

Gotcha, thanks. Good.

Oh for sure. I was under the assumption that Warrior hit him in the face with a helmet. That is a completely different situation than it being a simple fight. When you use a weapon to break somebody's eye socket, the law becomes a factor, whether you choose or not. Sorry that my post sounded dramatic. Wasn't my intention.
