Shy Tuttle Cleared To Run This Week

I hope they redshirt him , and he gets enough time to fully heal. A year in the new S&C program would help as well. I'm pulling for him, he's a beast when healthy. GBO

I agree with u completely. But, I doubt that happens. There is no way I would play him until the Florida game. In fact, I would probably sit him out every OOC game, even the ones after the Florida game.

Well, who does the scheduling? Butch has little to nothing to do with it? This is his fifth year. Who do you think has more to do with scheduling than the head coach? You think he has no input in scheduling?

The athletic director?

This game is one of those Kick-Off classic games. So, they probably approached UT and asked if they wanted to play in it. Maybe, they knew it would be against GT, maybe not. But, no one scheduled the opponent in this one, it was decided by the people who run this KO Classic and it was either be in the game or don't. I'm sure UT considered, playing in a recruiting hot spot like Atlanta on Labor Day, had more benefits than not playing in the game, because they were scared of cut blocks

And also the UGA game because it's clear that they are dirty with their blocking which caused his first injury. Should probably sit him against Bama since they are bigger and stronger than our guys so that increases his chances of getting injured.

If the kid is healed up then let him play.

I probably would too, and there's no way that I'd play him against Georgia Tech. Did Butch schedule that game? I don't like it one little bit.

All these neutral site games were Hart's doing. It was to get a big payday for the university and to not pay the city of Knoxville entertainment tax. One way he was rebuilding the reserve fund Hamilton drained.

Sorry you don't like it. If you wish to leave feedback on the subject, I know how you can get in touch with them. Feel free to call the athletics dept at 1-800-328-7448.

Brandon Kublanow is now with the Ravens. He was the only Georgia player I saw do that. Let him try that crap in the league.

I'd sit Tuttle until he is 100%. If that takes a RS, or a few games into the season, then so be it. I care more about his health than anything. It would bother me if he was to get injured again and jeopardize his football career because he was rushed to get back on the field.

Regardless, I hope Team 121 comes out and dominates GT for 60 minutes. It'd be nice to see us completely destroy and push around a team on prime time television again.

I'm not happy he's with the Ravens and if he does that in an NFL game, he's gonna start getting bounty's put on him. This is a mans level game and these guys are earning a living. You don't mess with a man's career. Needless to say, I won't be sporting his Ravens Jersey.....

Speaking about TUT. Looking at him, to me he is not a very muscular guy. I don't mean not strong. Here again, just wondering if a better S&C program for him might have given him a little more muscle mass to better protect himself. When he came aboard he was still a kid, although a big one. I his case, he being an immovable object made him vulnerable to a unstoppable man.(a guy a year or two into his college career, not high school age) I know someone on here will point out that he was injured by cheap shots. Maybe so, but if he were a little better prepared physically, maybe some of the cheap shot, double teams, ect., would not have seemed so bad.

Wishing the best for Shy this season. I still cringe recalling when Inky Johnson was destroyed by that cut block in the Air Force game in Neyland Stadium, plus when Kublanow cheap-shot TUT.

Huh? Inky's injury was from him launching himself into defender. Fluke

So they cut block Inky's shoulder???? Must of been a really tall dude from Air Force to pull that off?

Almost any team that runs a zone scheme cut blocks.

Pull up Kublanow's Georgia games, Burger. He was not cut blocking to open up a play, he was diving at the back of legs when his man was far from a factor in the play. I watched him last year, and there were plenty of games the ball was 30 yard away on the opposite side of the field.

It's a contact game, and guys get banged up. But there is no room for cheap shots. And Kublanow's shots are so cheap, they won't sell them at Green Acres flea market.

I hear that, VnR. Way I see it, he has two choices: Clean up his act and have a shot at a long career, or become a bug against a windshield. If he pulls those blocks in the league I have no doubt he will learn what Not For Long means.

It wasn't a cut block that injured Inky. He was tackling an Air Force player near the sideline.

Question

When someone is cleared to run are they still in discomfort or are they ready to go and being held back for precaution.

Or does it depend on playoffs vs off season.

Cleared to run is a doctors decision. Docs always tell you to let pain be your guide. If it hurts don't do it. So it is ok to run as long as it doesn't hurt. There may be a limit on distance and pace.
