The team played well showed a lot of heart didn't hang their heads when Gamecocks scored on opening play, came back and went to work everyone contributed
it was great see special teams get points that's not happened in long time, I liked QB rotation to start game we got options...……………..
Pruitt said "I make mistakes too." I believe that and I believe his failure to get Maurer and Shrout ready and to have good things to say about them was one of those mistakes. I think Coach Pruitt is learning.
He's likely not going to be the starter. It's entirely possible that they shut him down the rest of the season. Probably for the neck stinger you 2 suggest. I've not heard it personally but some are reporting that JG is starting Sat, why would that be the case if BM is healthy? So doctors at UT and Vandy apparently have not confirmed a concussion. He's gone through the protocol and has been asymptomatic. Coach Pruitt alternately said that he was in concussion protocol and "had a concussion"... and you can't see how he might have misspoke because the diagnosis of a concussion was possible?
You are trying much too hard.... You are completely non-objective because you simply don't want Maurer to be the starter.
Common sense will tell you that he's had his bell rung at least twice in consecutive weeks, you even blame one of his interceptions on being concussed. He may not see the field again this year.Y
Youre showing your ignorance. Protocol does not mean recovery. It means “looking for signs”. Common sense alone should tell you if he were cleared the following week, those signs never came.
He’s a competitor. Not wanting to leave a game isn’t a medical diagnosis. This from a fan who doesn’t believe Maurer has had a concussion...much less two.But maurer never wanted to come out of any of the games, so injury must not have been that bad. I understand protocol. But imo Pruitt wanted jg to play
Plus being ABLE to play with a screw holding your left wrist together and SHOULD he play short of emergency, are two different contingencies.A more rational post and comments on the current situation. So thank you. Very objective. One thing that Shrout did show a few times was ability to put the ball where only our receivers could make the catch/play. JT also threw the ball away and only forced one bad throw that was at risk of being intercepted.
At the end of the day, you give Shrout the start vs the weaker opponent to see if he is consistent or if the USC was just pure adrenaline/in the moment.... The thing with Shrout is that in the time he had before JG vs USC, he put the ball in some spots that were great throws. The 3rd down conversion to Jennings was on a rope and perfect.
I do think that Maurer and JT will play a lot vs UAB. I don't see any value in JG getting meaningful snaps vs an opponent like UAB who is nothing more than an advanced practice/scrimmage for Maurer and JT as they have a lot more time left than JG.
TEAM, lol, you've never posted anything about TEAM. Nearly 100% of your post are solely Muarer. I'm guessing that you are not even a fan of Vol football and if you are you just became one because of Maurer. Nothing wrong with that but you don't deserve to use the word TEAM when all you have discussed on this board is Maurer. I personally believe it was JJ and our Sr leadership that sparked this TEAM energy. Maurer, like the rest of the wet behind the ears Freshman are following their lead, not the other way around as you and some suggest.Never said JJ as an individual. That’s just the way he is so I would expect that. If you follow the conversation that you’re referring to you’ll realize it was about the entire TEAM.
Let me ask you something Pulaski. Let’s see how honest of a man you are. If Maurer made you eat crow and became one of the best that ever came through UT would you be disappointed?TEAM, lol, you've never posted anything about TEAM. He was the starter and for good reason before he was injured. The guy you are so desperate to see be the starter with more than sufficient time to prove himself was a big if not the biggest factor in UT losing to BYU and GSU. Pruitt himself said going into the Bama game that UT would have been 4-2 with "good" QB play. There is only one guy he could have been pointing at.He's likely not going to be the starter.
Based on absolutely nothing but your wishful imagination. You just keep proving that your interest is in seeing JG start... and specifically not Maurer. It's entirely possible that they shut him down the rest of the season.
One of us has been moronic enough to claim we know for sure what his injuries are/were in spite of someone close to the family saying it isn't so certain.... the other one is me. Maurer fell on his head. He jammed his neck and stretched it in an awkward backward angle. It wasn't a long fall or a particularly hard impact. Go back and watch rather than acting like an idiot.Probably for the neck stinger you 2 suggest.
Because Pruitt thinks his USCe performance is different from his Auburn performance last year. It would be a stupid move... but it is his move to make. Pruitt committed himself to JG very early this year. He had to take it personal when JG failed so miserably to respond to months of coaching and confidence building. This isn't just about JG's redemption... but justifying Pruitt's decision.I've not heard it personally but some are reporting that JG is starting Sat, why would that be the case if BM is healthy?
I've never said Maurer didn't have potential. I did say that he'll likely not play here much based on our QB situation and who we have coming in. As for eating crow, I think that's a dumb saying, and really nothing to eat as I don't get in a wad about whether my opinions come true or not. You want to eat crow so bad then maybe you should try a helping or 2 as you once stated that once BM got in the lineup he would not come out and that he would play so great that it would scare HB off to another school! LoL. He's supposedly healthy based on your conversations with the family so I'm curious as to if he gets to play at all Saturday.Let me ask you something Pulaski. So you’re reporting that someone else reported this? That’s a lot of reporting! There is a report out there that he'll return to practice this week. That doesn't sound like they're going to shut him down or anything
Maurer (head) is expected to start practicing this week, David Ubben of The Athletic reports.

Your guy got beaten out. Maurer sat out because he was injured.I've never said Maurer didn't have potential. They were quoting reporters, which generally means absolutely nothing. JG practicing with a gigantic glove on one hand really doesn't make any sense but I think he's earned the job back and maybe the coaches do as well, I think all 3 may play depending on health. I'd be concerned if Maurer doesn't play as there is really no reason that he shouldn't if he's healthy. If he plays then he's obviously been cleared, if he doesn't play tomorrow I don't think we'll see him again this season unless of an emergency. We’re “reporters” now?![]()
For goodness sake... are you really and truly so vain that you cannot admit you are wrong... ever? They were quoting reporters, which generally means absolutely nothing.
