I stopped giving annual donations to united way back in the Seventies when that scandal erupted about UW officials using all those donated funds to pay for yacht trips and orgies and such for their executives. If a charity I'm donating my hard-earned dollars to is going to throw an orgy, the least they can do is send me an invite. UW never did. I vowed they'd never get another cent from me and they never will.

Well said people should do research before donating, it's the biggest scandal ever. Board members make 500,000+ While only 3% of your donation goes to what it's intended for.

The president of UW takes over $375,000.00 plus expenses off the top annually. It's one of the ones to avoid.

AMEN. Same here. I still donate but I do it directly to the charity of my choice instead of giving it to the UW and letting them play games with worthwhile charities to force them to support the UW's liberal political agenda. Just Say No to the United Way. Give directly to your favorite charity. It actually gives the charity more because you don't have the 15%-20% skim taken off by the UW.
