Perhaps if you had read my other posts in this thread you would have detected what I felt was obvious sarcasm.

you should lay off the weed.
And as desperation sets in, emain turns to making posts that have all the substance of a Beavis and Butt Head marathon.

Up next: Emain tells you that his post count is higher than yours. Stay tuned!

If you really want to get into an intellectual pissing match, I am more than willing.

I can't believe this thread is still going.

I can't believe that these two asses are still basically trying to tell people they are of superior intelligence. I would think in an argument you would want to stick to your strengths. In fairness, the mechanics of ditch digging probably doesn't translate well into message board fare.

They just don't know how to have an opinion and let others have their's as well. :good!:

I'm just mocking the fact that all you have left is ad hominem and horrific rationalizations. If you feel insecure because someone dared to point it out, then oh well. I guess I'll deal.

I don't feel insecure about it, I just feel that since you and the other guy provoked it, you are being hypocritical. If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

AirGibson and Vols5051

Guys, a simple question to both of you. What is your opinion on the on field product this year? No need for a wise ass comeback. I just want to know what you two guys think?

If I were you, I would try telling the other guy about your post count and how it makes you insightful.

I don't even know where that comes from, considering that I have never referenced my post count in any argument. That goes for my entire time on this board, not just this argument.

Guys I am not a Tenn. fan and have been on here a few times just to lurk The reason I am posting is it is crazy to go out and boo college kids is flat out uncalled for, now whether you were at the game or watching on the television, these kids signed up to go to a program to play football and get an education. They are not getting paid millions of dollars and shrugging off losses. Have some respect for these players win or loose they deserve to be treated better than that, some of these guys are using the only way possible to obtain a college degree, so back off with the booing and relax. I want my team to win as bad as the next guy, but at the end of the day it is just a football game. You will win some and lose some, but life brings tougher times than loosing a football game.

Sorry, this won't wash. If we use your logic, all the players on the team would get to play, because we don't want their feelings:cray:hurt. This is Division I College Football, next step to the bigs, you put your best on the field every down in order to Win. If you can't take a little criticism from people who have traveled who knows how far to watch you play, paying big $$$ for a tiny 32" seat, transfer to a small NAIA or Division II school that has fewer fans and less stress on your poor EGO.

Would you rather people not show up at all?

I never said you did. Just suggesting what would sound good to go along with your other posts such as "you smoke weeeeeeed!!!"

But I tell you what: I will get back on topic and play nice if you will. This is a relatively dead topic anyhow.

Everyone feels frustrated at how horrific our offense in particular has looked, and at how our coaches most likely need to be revamped. UF was supposed to be a blowout and, sadly, it was. I can't say I was terribly surprised. I also know it is completely futile to hope that fans would show more discipline. I am frustrated to hell, too, and it is no fun at all to pay hundreds of dollars to see them get romped like that.

That said, some of the rationalizations here are ridiculous, and that is what I have been addressing. People are booing because they want to vent to make themselves feel better. Period. If we're going to do it, at least be honest about it and quit trying to pretend there is some kind of noble ulterior motive to it. Yes, we boo because we are pissed off. Yes, the opposing teams love to hear us doing it and it gives them an unwanted boost. No, it isn't likely to help our team in the least. But still, we do it to make ourselves feel better and that's that.

In my perfect little world, I would much rather Neyland be known as the stadium that will not give up rather than the stadium that will gladly help the opposing fans boo the home team in a game where they are massive underdogs to begin with. But fair enough, that will never happen because people are more concerned with venting than discipline, so that's that. My wishes certainly aren't realistic, so like I say, I wouldn't dream of dictating that nobody should ever boo. But I don't think my heart is in the wrong place.

But if that is totally irrational, feel free to set me straight.

for the record, I never said there was anything wrong with smoking weed, I only implied that too much would cause one to post nonsensical ramblings.

As for your points about the game, being a 7 point dog at home is bad enough, coming out and getting completely outclassed by a team who was having their own problems is a completely different animal. The so-called experts thought this game would be close. We should have had a chance to at least make it a close game, but due to a variety of factors we didn't. Then we get excuses from players like Crompton, and the fan reaction seems all the more warranted.

That's just what I think about it.

A well thought out post. Nothing wrong with your train of thought.

SEC football is all about passion, emotion, competition, combativeness. I could go on. Fans with passion for their team are part of what makes it the best FB in the country. Better a booing, passionate fan than one who sits with his thumb in a dark place and just "grins and bears it".

I've booed before. No doubt I'll boo again. I've torn up programs and hurled them into trash cans. I've taken off hats and thrown them. I might be a redneck, but I'm one with a college education and a successful 31 year career in the telecommunications industry. And I'm one who really gets into my football. It's a HUGE part of my life, and I'm passionate about it.

That performance yesterday deserved booing. It's as simple as that. Even Phil agrees.

If it is just a "Game" why does the University spend millions of dollars on coaching every year and charge for ticket?s Why did Mike Hamilton say earlier this year (after raising ticket prices) "The fans want championships & in essence they have to pay for them"? We should let everyone in for free and say "It's just a game" and let it go. I agree it not very nice for a young man to hear the boos from thier home crowd but when the team looks like high school football team then I can understand the fan's frustration. I agree & I wouldn't boo a college player or team either, but I have to admit it we looked terrible yesterday.

Defensive end Robert Ayers:

"For people (to boo) that probably never played the game, it doesn't faze us," the senior said.

Ayers, thanks for your effort. Sorry about the treatment you were subjected to against UAB & UF. Many of us out here (although it appears to be a minority) know you guys are out there busting you @ss for the U. Unfortunately the true nature of folks can be seen in difficult times.

When did Ayers start playing for Miami?
