listen, it's the same at almost every school. if your team sucks, they'll get booed. if they're good they'll get cheered. I know! crazy!

and it's our right as season ticket holders to boo the football team when they suck
Nobody wants fair weather fans. Including the Vols.

And that was a completely salient point regarding recruits. I hope we didn't have many at this game. If the whooping wasn't bad enough, the fair weather boo-hooing fans will certainly turn them away.

You literally just equated booing a home college football team's players to criticizing the US President. Wow. Words fail.

No she didn't. She said people don't have a problem criticizing the pres. and that was much worse than booing a football team.

Booing has nothing to do with being a fair-weather fan. A fair-weather fan wouldn't be at the game and wouldn't be watching period if they sucked. They'd choose a new team.

Jonathan Crompton said they don't care when the fans boo. Why do y'all?

I took his comment as disrespectful - not just shrugging it off. But that's what I'd expect him to say - I'd be worried if he said it really got me upset (aka Vince Young).

It's a Top 15 class so far.

Wrong. You'll see defections left and right before Feb. No good athlete in their right mind would want to play for a bunch of cry baby fans that we have. The booing will continue, recruits will de-committ, and Fulmer will still be here. The only thing you whinners will accomplish is running athletes offer. So, say hello to another sub-par class.

If you don't understand why everyone stands where they do right now, then you obviously haven't followed this team for the past 7 years.

Well since you're referencing my post....I just want you to know that I don't care what you think. I know how I feel and I don't feel bad about it. I don't boo players. If you think we're a joke you can leave and not come back. But you wont, because you like to argue. You'll stay here and argue pointlessly on this board because you have nothing better to do. So let's get it started....go ahead and insult me.

I love the fact that fans in the south may be third or fourth generation fans, maybe more, the fact is these guys are kids that are playing their rear ends off. I don't even like Tennessee football but I watched the game and the players did not want to lose as much as the fans did not want to see them lose Florida was the better team and would be the better team nine times out of ten. Sometimes your just outmatched. This is only coming from an outsider so take from it what you will. i apologize if I personally insulted you.

You know what with the replies that I have seen thus far you guys deserve everything you have coming to you, so enjoy the bottom of the basement because it can only get worse from here. Stay classy and keep booing it shows all those recruits coming to the game how great tennessee fans are to play for, and remeber that while everyone is choking back tears when the T opens up and all that other crap. These guys are playing for themselves, the university, and the so called great state of Tennessee. You guys are a joke.
I find it highly presumptious of you to come in here and lecture us regarding our behavior toward a football team you claim no allegiance to. Why don't you go ahead and tell us what school you are a fan of so we can have a clearer picture of who you are and where you're coming from. Or are you a coward in that respect sorta like the muslim terrorists.

If they pay the ticket price they have the right to voice their displeasure. Recruits sitting in the stands or not. People sitting on their hands and all the old dried up raisins in the stands. Thats the reason nothing has been done to fix the current problem and people are getting tired of it.

Check this link before you claim I am wrong and reread the verbage used. :hi:

With any luck, many of the boo-hooing folks WILL choose a new team. Good lord, some of you are embarrassing. Seriously. Stay off our side if you can't handle the bad times.

I know people who work their ass off just to get laid off. Being booed on a football field ins't the worst thing in life. Who's handing out spirit awards at the end of the season?

Guys I am not a Tenn. fan and have been on here a few times just to lurk The reason I am posting is it is crazy to go out and boo college kids is flat out uncalled for, now whether you were at the game or watching on the television, these kids signed up to go to a program to play football and get an education. They are not getting paid millions of dollars and shrugging off losses. Have some respect for these players win or loose they deserve to be treated better than that, some of these guys are using the only way possible to obtain a college degree, so back off with the booing and relax. I want my team to win as bad as the next guy, but at the end of the day it is just a football game. You will win some and lose some, but life brings tougher times than loosing a football game.

i'm thinking he might be getting at that all this fuss or walking out or black outs for NIU or demanding the coaches out or boycotting the team hurt the players too snd they're the ones who this sport's really about

It doesn't matter to me. You're not a Tn fan, you said it. I can't expect you to fully understand this. It's gonna be ok, I know. The sun will come up tomorrow. Life will go on. It just sucks that our mistakes cost us the game for the most part. It sucks to be considered the bottom of the rung in the SEC when you used to be feared greatly. NO ONE WANTED TO COME TO NEYLAND AND FACE THE VOLS. Now, it's just different. I've got nothing against you man.

I no longer have the energy to boo. I have been a Vols fan since birth, 34 years ago. I have never cared less about the Vols. The coaches should be fired, Crompton should be booed, I dont care if he is a kid that doesn't deserve it. The Vols stink and will until a change is made. I hope everybody likes losing, cause it is going to happen a lot while this nonsense is in charge.
