Guys I am not a Tenn. fan and have been on here a few times just to lurk The reason I am posting is it is crazy to go out and boo college kids is flat out uncalled for, now whether you were at the game or watching on the television, these kids signed up to go to a program to play football and get an education. They are not getting paid millions of dollars and shrugging off losses. Have some respect for these players win or loose they deserve to be treated better than that, some of these guys are using the only way possible to obtain a college degree, so back off with the booing and relax. I want my team to win as bad as the next guy, but at the end of the day it is just a football game. You will win some and lose some, but life brings tougher times than loosing a football game.

This sounds like something you'd hear out in the Pac-10.

(That doesn't mean that it's not true; it's just not an attitude which is exactly compatible with the southern way of life.)

The team gets the boos, not just the coaches. I'm sorry it's asinine to think that the players are somehow above criticism and the demand of the fans. We expect them to perform well just like we do the coaches. If they don't then both get the blame, not just the coaches.

I'm booing people who aren't as good as the jr. high team down the road. I'm booing anytime we shoot ourselves in the foot when the game could've gone a different direction. I'm booing a program my dad, my grandfather, and everyone around me have supported for YEARS and nothing is demanded by the high ups but mediocrity. I'm booing because I used to have to choke back tears when the PRIDE marched into the stadium before the game, a sea of orange, all singing rocky top..and now it just doesn't seem to matter. I'm booing because seeing the T open up doesn't give me chills anymore like it used to. I'm booing because we keep coaches around who can't keep up for no other reason than he's friends with the AD.
That being said, I wasn't at the game, and I don't personally boo players unless I'm at home.

If they had better coaching then they'd play atleast smarter and better.. maybe even harder (but motivation and intensity is mostly on the player).

I'm sorry but you can't coach heart, determination, or intensity. Either you have it as a football player or you don't. It's just something that is bred into the great players. If it takes coaches to get players up for the big games, then we need new players.

Let's give out trophys to all the players at the end of the year. Pat em' on their ass and tell them nothings wrong. The blind leading the blind.

One word for that performance from Fulmer to the water boy today, apathetic.

That's why I just said - they'd play smarter and better overall with better coaching... and said "but the motivation and intensity is mostly on the players". But motivation is still a big part of coaching a team.

The best teachers in the world can't do much with students who can't apply what is being taught.

You know what with the replies that I have seen thus far you guys deserve everything you have coming to you, so enjoy the bottom of the basement because it can only get worse from here. Stay classy and keep booing it shows all those recruits coming to the game how great tennessee fans are to play for, and remeber that while everyone is choking back tears when the T opens up and all that other crap. These guys are playing for themselves, the university, and the so called great state of Tennessee. You guys are a joke.

The notion that they are "booing the coaches" is a complete cop-out. When people boo after a Crompton interception, they are booing the fact we had a bad play. Period. That includes the coaches and the players.

I have never been too keen on anyone booing their home team. As much as we need new coaches, we desperately need some new fans as well. This ranks up there with "hoping for a loss so that we get a new coach".

Keep sippin' the kool-aid and telling us we are all idiots. You might see the light as your name implies, "in due time".
