Showing respect for players

My point? We've got a hell of alot of losers that are season ticket holders.

Well it is unfortunate that the people who are pouring money into the football program would expect results. Tell me, if you owned a business and certain employees consistently failed would just sit back and let it happen?

You know what with the replies that I have seen thus far you guys deserve everything you have coming to you, so enjoy the bottom of the basement because it can only get worse from here. Stay classy and keep booing it shows all those recruits coming to the game how great tennessee fans are to play for, and remeber that while everyone is choking back tears when the T opens up and all that other crap. These guys are playing for themselves, the university, and the so called great state of Tennessee. You guys are a joke.

I think to say that these are just kids and they are just there to play ball and get an education is misleading. When these guys get on campus, they are given God-like status. It is also misleading in my opinion to say they are not "paid". I agree they are not on a payroll (at least not a legal one), but having your education PAID for is a form of payment in my book. Granted they put in alot of hours, but they have a pretty nice road paved for them there. If you can cheer and exalt when things are good, then you should be able to boo when things are bad. It will be a moot point soon....after we lose to Auburn, nobody will be in the stands.

espn quote "Phil Fulmer earned the Boos and admitted he would Boo this team"

Just heard it , swear!

What do you expect him to do? Come out and butt heads with the fan base after a loss? Wouldn't that be perceived as "blaming" them.

Man, we got some smart ones here, don't we.

Sorry I hit a nerve. I didn't realize you had your GED.

I do have my GED and yes I still use better grammar and can spell better than you do. You didn't hit a nerve at all, I was just pointing out that you want to criticize us but don't want to spell or use correct grammar in your criticisms, which is a substance of an educated discussion. :good!:

Dude, you are wrong. Accept it. He didn't have to comment on it at all.

Hey maybe they boos will put their backs against the wall, get them all disrespected, maybe it was an "incredible insult"......Tennessee football has become a joke in the national spotlight.

these are 18-22 year kids!!!!!!

Do you understand?

Good for you for getting your GED, Eric!!

I tell you what, if you think we are fair weather fans then you should go back and read some of our posts from the past 2-3 years and see the progression of our attitudes before you come in here talking you smack. Educate yourself first, then let us know just how fair weather you think we are afterwards.
I have no doubt several of you are relatively rational folks who have cheered your heart out several years for UT. Believe it or not, so am I.

I simply do not understand what there is to gain. I can completely understand how frustrated you are, and booing is a means of venting. And while it feels great to vent, it is arguably selfish, petty, and achieves nothing positive.

And I can already here the rebuttal coming: "But we will get CPF replaced sooner if we boo!!" Oy...I don't even know how to respond to that.

In any event, the "fan police" leaves you to your leisure. I would rather be a part of the solution than the problem, personally, but to each his own. Peace.

CPF himself said he would boo this team just a few moments ago. So your whole "don't boo" argument is "Dust in the Wind" as of now.

Yeah, and when I was an 18-22 year old "kid" who screwed up I expected to hear about it. I could also handle it. I am sorry that you weren't raised properly.

You miss the point. You used the "business" analogy, and I'm simply pointing out that these are 18-22 student athletes you are booing.....not professionals.

That's why, if you boo them, you are a loser.

I'm not staying up to argue or anything, but i think what's lost in all this is that it's the players who get hurt by all than this almost just as much as any coach. They're the ones who get the most negative coverage in it, they're the one's who will have to play through a new coach's system which adjusting to may cost them some of their future careers, and they're the ones who in this case had to keep playing after a stadium of their own fans left them after only a half of play in what could had (at that point) still turned out winnable or close.

I know we're all upset, but honestly, we werent expected, favored, or picked to be good this year by anyone save 1 espn analyst. But mainly, this game...college football...it's about the players and their futures, b/c they only get a one-window shot at this. We'll still be here cheering and watching a program long after they've left it and moved on with their lives
